Good stuff for the V6 guys. The real question, is what does it do for power? It looks good enough, and I'm sure enhances the sound a bit, but what about the power. If it can generate an honest 10 - 15 HP at peak, then I say good stuff. But even if not, at least you can get a good change under the hood without a chance at voiding your warranty.
Now...where is the SS version???

I can't see much improvement with just an intake. other forums state an increase of 2 HP with the intake. what bugs me is when you bring the car to the dealership how do you know that any tune was accomplished since the improvement is very slight. I looked at the box price, $400 plus tax just for parts from "the parts guy". how much can the flash cost??? questions, questions, questions. |

Holy, I never knew there was one in the works for the V6.
I was told they were discontinuing it for the SS. C'mon Chevy, make it happen. CAI usually adds a nice throaty sound and better throttle response.. I'll get it! |

I talked with the people in the GM Performance booth yesterday at PRI. They said the engineers will have the final CAI part in the next day or two. Expecting to have it available in a few weeks for sale and it will come with a calibration.

Nice...been waiting on this, but would like to see real world results, otherwise if there are none, then not sure it is worth the $400.

Just keep in mind that you need a dealer to flash the official calibration update and this intake is not yet approved for any of the 14 CARB states.
So your mileage may vary there. |

Do these intakes still use that annoying firewall noise tube?
