Excuses? So you're saying Chevy wanted another 1/3 volume in the form of rental cars and couldn't get it? You're funny.

Ford is #1 in sales in the USA for some reason. So your just knocking Ford for what reason?

GM also better look out, their about to lose 2nd place in the pickup truck sales race to the Dodge Ram, with Ford still comfortably way out front.

Wait until the new Ford Ranger hits the lots, it will be a knockout blow to the overpriced Colorado.

"Your guessing" should not be in quotation marks. It is not a direct quote from my post. Bad grammar, too.

GM still number one in sales. Ford Motor Company got KO'd last month by Toyota in total sales.

One quarter does not a trend make. FoMoCo is in dire straights - just canned the CEO and these Q2 earnings were driven by foreign tax credits. GM won't have Opel dragging down profitability in 2017. Expect GM to post double the profit of FoMoCo again this year.
To the overseas profits, I was speaking to those from Mustang specifically, because that's a part of what this thread is about. The cars sold in other countries are sold with a lot more of what are options here, as standard. So those transactions would return much more profit than base models.

Also you say 1 in 3 Mustangs is rental, does that include the foreign cars? If not, why, as these cars are built right alongside their domestic brethren. Their generated profits go into the same coffers as the US sold units.

GM as a whole probably outsells Ford, Ford doesnt count Lincoln and its other companies to puff itself up. GM uses, Chevy, GMC, Cadillac, Buick and whatever else they make. Count Chevy vs Ford then you see the actual sales count and as for Toyota, if you think Ford sells alot of fleet, Toyota sells to anyone and everyone including isis.

I will put whatever I want in quotation marks, just get your facts straight about GM and Ford. I drive a Camaro and have owned quite a few but I dont have to puff up GM to make myself feel good for driving a Camaro.

GM has more than the Ranger to worry about.

The JT Jeep comes out within the same time frame. Jeep is like Apple products. It can be complete shit and people will still buy it. However the new JL, and JT will offer alot, and they have made alot of improvements to the vehicle which should only improve it's standing in the market.

More on topic.

This is from a former GM Executive. Personally, I love the Camaro from and engineering standpoint. We have have a 2ss for benchmarking at work and it gets alot of traction for a wide variety of reasons. The Alpha platform in general is well done, and there is alot of effort put into it and it shows. I just wish if they wanted to stay retro, they looked to the 2nd gen more.

I heard about that but it wont touch Ford Ranger I dont think. But who knows. The Colorado is overpriced, hell you can get a nice Silverado for the same or less money than a Colorado.

General Motors' profit soared on a year-over-year basis,

whereas Ford reported a steep decline in earnings.

Additionally, GM expects its full year earnings to be roughly in line with last year's record profit, whereas

Ford is calling for a step down in profit this year.

What were those sales numbers? Very important to get facts straight! How dare they.
