I don't think mods effects too much on resale value. But for insurence isn't the mod list are claimed separately? Most of the cars on sale are stock, it's hard to see the price difference between stock and modded.

Private and dealer sales are priced above 24k cdn and are about the same.
Has far as a can find there is a large discrepansy in pricing going all the way up to 30k for a 2010 SS...
that's like 16k-22K $USD

Nah, they are SS, mostly 100k+, few of them are around 70k. But I would say average price for a 2010 is around 25k.

Don't wanna thread jack, but I got my 14 1LE with 19k for 35k one year ago. That price seems really high IMO.

Double check your policy. If you have receipts for the aftermarket parts and labor you may be able to add that to your FMV claim. Remember, you're not selling the car, your getting reimbursed for the car. Fair Market Value should be the average selling price for similarly optioned, similar condition/mile cars in your area.

You can get a used 2012 or 2013 ZL1 for $38k or a little less if you look hard enough. Generally, that's for a car with 30-40k miles on it. It's rare to see one with anything higher mileage than that. Not a bad deal at all for a car with a factory warranty on the supercharger, upgraded oil pump, and handling components. The prices will only keep falling.

Unfortunately, the biggest loss on investment would be a 5th gen Camaro that was *upgraded* to be a ZL1 after the fact. Basically anything that wasn't originally on the window sticker during the original sale will not count toward its value. You'll end up getting maybe $18k+ in resale, same as any other SS, depending on how many miles it has. You could also instead capitalize on this fact and buy somebody else's modded Camaro on the used market, but it's obviously a risk. No real chance of it being marked "certified pre-owned" at that point.

Mileage and Condition (Accident-Free) are going to be Key Factors - because people are looking for Low-Mileage Clean Cars.

Maintenance is good, but most Dealers do not give Service Records and rely on CarFax.

Mods are great for when you are driving, but not on the re-sell! The General public looks at a car with Mods as car driven by a Madman to 120% of the cars' capacity! However, if your Insurance is reimbursing you for your Mods, good for you.

Other factors (like them or not); Age of the Driver, Sex of the Driver, Location of the car (Rust in the North, Salt Air along the coasts), Color, etc

I"ve read it but i doesnt say much about it... I did send them most of my invoices.
curreently in the Province of Quebec there is about 20x 2010 camaro SS for sale. the prices range from 24k to 30k $cdn. Is 20 cards enough to make a fair market value?
