$2795 MXO 10 speed
$1995 exposed hood
$1795 PVR
$995 NAV
$995 Sunroof
$165 ZL1 Floor Mats
$495 CFiber Dash Insert
$7000 Vert

It's not a science it's a guess so don't pin me to the cross just yet!

5th Gen Exposed Carbon Hood was only $600. If you don't get the option, you are still getting a CF insert, its weave is just not exposed, it's painted.

I'm hoping $800 maybe $900 for Exposed CF hood. I think you are right on the 10 speed, but hoping for less of course.

I was hoping 1LE would be no more than $5k but 6500 isn't terrible. The ZL1 is close to what I figured it would be.

Magazines do not require Ford's permission. All they need is a current owner who is willing to let them use their car. I guess you meant to say if Ford will supply them with a test car....

Press release says 220 lb reduction so, last gen 4120 Manual Coupe, to 6th Gen Manual Coupe = 3900 lbs.

ZL1

0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds
Quarter-mile in 11.4 seconds at 127 mph
1.02 g max cornering
60-0 mph braking in 107 feet (32 meters)
220-pound (100 kg) weight reduction
650-horsepower (485 kW) supercharged LT4 6.2L V-8 engine
*ZL1 performance numbers achieved with a coupe equipped with the available 10-speed automatic transmission and using original-equipment tires on a non-prepped surface.

That one is off the Vette which is about the same size. Same deal I believe with the Vette if you don't get the exposed it's a carbon flash paint over the carbon fiber so very similar.

I hope u r right. It will save me some cash!!

The new ZL1 running 11.4 on an unprepped suface is a HUGE improvement. And in mineshaft air with prep we might see 10s out of a stock A10 ZL1. So the new ZL1 has acceleration parity with the HellKitty as one would expect given similar power to weight ratios. The ZL1 might be a little faster but this is a drivers race.

And I can also say this about both cars as a fact. This much power/speed is pretty much unusable on the street. You can only have fun in very short bursts and you are very likely to attract unwanted attention from the police even then.

These big ET numbers are all from auto cars. I have seen Hellcat M6 drivers (even with DRs) struggle all night trying to get into the 11s. But they do get there eventually if they stick with it and do not get discouraged. Usually I only see the same M6 HC once or twice. That is why M6es are so much fun. With some seat time in an auto you can look up the DA and assuming some track prep you can very closely predict your numbers. Zzzzz. Not nearly as much fun to me as DIY launching and shifting.

As to road tracking the big 5th Gen ZL1 weakness was heat soak. I have heard 5th gen ZL1s can lose big HP after a couple of laps. I can also confirm this drag racing my ZL1. With my '16 SS I can hot lap and get very close ETs and MPH. The ZL1 demanded long cool offs to run in top form

GM has paid a lot of attention to hardware cooling in the 6th gen Camaros. However you can only do so much given such a concentrated heat generator. Time will give us that answer. If you plan to track your ZL1 be prepared to spend alot of time learning before you try running at 8/10ths. Plenty of bent ZL1 pics from the track with the slower ZL1. Get track and life insurance!

But a $62K+ car is affordable performance? Dont forget insurance for our younger buyers and the guzzler tax? (Or did the new ZL1 somehow avoid that? The PR just says tax.) What planet is the person who wrote that from? LOL

The new ZL1 sounds like a very impressive car as are all the CA6 Camaros in thier class. Congrats Chevy.
Spot on man, agree on all points.

I figured this car would be about $70,000 out the door. I think that is still a sound guestimate.

Once you add gas guzzler tax, dealer markup and options, you are going to be hard pressed to drive off with one for less than 70 I think.

I'm very interested to see what the early buyers end up actually getting these for, and how many base models hit showrooms and also how many dealers don't price gouge.

Are you all figuring no dealer markup on this one?

Congrats to those waiting...........you have one helluva car coming! The A10 will be a beast on ANY track. 11.4's as already discussed is a 10.9X in the hands of any mortal and wouldn't be surprised to see a 10.50 hero time with great air, a little icing and one hell of a driver.

Great job GM!

first i'll say I'm a current C7Z owner and had this come out sooner I may have purchased this instead and saved 30-40K! I missed the part that these numbers were achieved on a non prepped surface, that's even more impressive. In my C7Z I can achieve a 0-60 consistently of 3.1-3.3 but that is on sport cup 2 tires. I bet the ZL1 on sport cup 2's could do about the same. My guess is the car on same tires (super sports, sport cups or DRs) well be off the Z06 by about 2-3 tenths. So I expect 10's well actually be easier then some think and bet a hero run around 10.5-10.6. What tires are stock on ZL1 now, Goodyear supercar? If those are the same as 5th gen Z then thats a bummer because they aren't nearly as good as the Michelin tires.

Really impressed with the 10 speed auto. I'm still wondering why GM spent SO much R&D money on the 8 speed auto with this beauty in the pipeline. Still - all win for us car buyers. Can't wait to see these in action. Although it's killing us CTS-V guys LOL!
