Interesting they seem to be letting people touch them there unlike the NAIAS in Detroit.

Pretty colors on the Canyon will make me think twice regarding Colorado.

My Camry, which the future midsize will be replacing, blew up on the highway last month. 18 years old, so it didn't owe me anything, but it takes waiting for the Ranger to reveal out of my equation. The automotive gods have decided I will have a Colorado or Canyon.

Let's just say I relate very strongly to this song right now.

Hurry up and build this thing GM.

Apparently we'll see 35inch tires on the AEV versions. I guess GM finally caved (AEV wanted to offer it from factory that way on the 2nd gen).

Looks like fleet order guides are in for Colorado and Canyon: https://www.gmfleetorderguide.com/NA...ID=1&year=2023

(click link, press either Chevy Truck or GMC emblem, press "print book", select new Colorado or Canyon from respective dropdown, press "print model", press "print" in upper right hand)

Overall, I am particularly underwhelmed by the Z71 standard feature decisions.. but as long as the prices match it could be forgiven.

Standard on all trims - Buckle to Drive, prevents vehicle from being shifted out of Park until driver seat belt is fastened; times out after 20 seconds and encourages seat belt use, can be turned on and off in Settings menu

Remote start not standard on Z71...

Heated seats not standard on Z71...

Damped tailgate not standard on Z71...

Power driver seat not standard on Z71...

Trailering package seemingly no longer standard on any trim except ZR2

"Z71 Convenience Package II, includes (CJ2)
Dual-zone automatic climate control, (N37) Tilt
and Telescopic steering column, (PPA) EZ lift
and lower tailgate, (A2X) 8-way power driver
seat, (AL9) Power driver seat lumbar, (KA1)
Heated front seats, (BTV) Remote start, (DD8)
Auto dimming inside rearview mirror, (BPC)
StowFlex Tailgate, (BDR) Locking Cylinder
and (K4C) Wireless charging"

"Z71 Convenience Package III, includes
(HUQ) Leather-appointed seating, (E90)
Driver seat back pocket, (DA5) Rear center
arm rest, (A45) Driver memory settings, (KU9)
Ventilated front seats, (KI3) Heated steering
wheel and (B26) Safety Package
1 - Requires (PCX) Z71 Convenience Package II."

Leather seats now ONLY AVAILABLE in the Z71 Convenience Package III; no more standalone option.

Canyon offering "Solar Flare Metallic" paint - looks like a previous 2000’s Hummer orange-ish color? Or is that going to be the GMC equivalent of the Nitro Yellow that the Colorado gets? I dont see the Nitro Yellow option that was seen on one of the show Canyons at the Texas State Fair otherwise.

Yeah I just need pricing at this point. Looks like I can get an LT with basically everything I want once I add all 3 convenience packages. The question is if it'd be cheaper at that point to just get a Z71.

It looks like the Z71 isn't so well equipped. What the heck.

I think it may be an attempt to drop down the MSRP then make the consumer add packages, almost like the introduction of the Camaro LT1 model. That is the only reason I can think of, even though that is a bit silly since the LT exists.

Assuming the order guides are correct, it is also sad to see so many features locked behind packages. I always appreciated that Chevy had so many standalone options so you specifically didnt need to get a whole package. Seems like they seriously tried to improve factory simplicity by preventing as many single options, as well as the switch to only CCSB.

All I can say is the prices better match all these decisions. You could get a Z71 for low 40’s in the current gen, and now it seems a similarly equipped Z71 of the new gen will require packages, and that better not raise the price significantly.

Canyon Elevation is at $40k for a 2WD model but comes standard with the High Output engine tune and lifted/widened suspension. If I had to guess Z71 will probably be in that ballpark.

The options packages are kind of annoying but luckily for me, literally every option I want is included in those packages.

Once you add all 3 packages every option is in there, I would hope so!

Did either of you notice the existence of a 2LT and a 4LT model? The only differences I noted after scouring the whole guide were that 1) 2LT cant get the sunroof, 2) 2LT doesnt have an express all-windows-down switch, and 3) no recovery hooks on 2LT. Otherwise all options are available for both 2LT and 4LT.

At first I thought it was tied to being a 4WD vs 2WD model difference since Page 12 shows that the 2LT doesnt have a transfer case, but then on Page 51 there is a 4WD 2LT option.

That might be a typo or something. Everything else points to 2LT being 2WD and 4LT being 4WD.
