Just got back from my local dealer and he was unable to pull anything up to send in my order. He is supposed to have one allotted to him, but nothing at all. And nothing at all on the Chevrolet web site as of this morning.
What gives? He is also pretty adamant that no 2SS's will be able to be ordered yet, but I didn't have the press release to show him. Where is the official press release available that the original poster quoted from? Edited to Add. It's now on Chevy's Web site, complete with spec sheet, but no "Build your own" yet. I was really thinking I would be kicking myself for not waiting for the convertible, but I wouldn't trade everything I've got with this car and the incredible ownership experience I've had so far for anything.
Here's to many more great years together!

I'm flying, Just ordered my 2SS RS Black vert today. The dealer told that I will prob get it in feb or march. Here in Montreal, Canada, Feb and March are usually COLD (-20 to -30 Celsius) and with tons of snow. I'll put it on platform and take it to my garage. I will have plenty of time to pamper it and polish it so she'll be ready for summer. _________________ 1976 Grey ext White interior Rally Sport 1980 Black Z28 Grey interior and Now 2011 2SS RS Black ext beige interior CONVERTIBLE |

Wow.
That came out 10x better than I thought it would. And I was expecting great things. Looks fantastic, and they really did some work on this one. Seems the little delay was worth it. I'm loving the sleek look...even with the top up!! |

It is a tank. 4100# plus. My 1999 Trans Am convertible with a LS1 has a 3400# curb weight.

The Trans Am also didn't have half the support bracing or other advancements they somehow packed into this car. Not saying one is better than the other, but.....

The T/A is made of plastic or most of it is. I have drove both the new camaro and the old T/A LS1 aluminum corvette car. Let's put it like this.. the old T/A is just or more quick than the new camaro. I am actually not impressed with the power / weight ratio of the new camaro.
