It may not ......as we don't know what your car looks like, you may need another polishing step prior the the finish polish stage, with a med pad, speed 3 and meguires ultimate compound....see the doc called " doing a one year old car" in my Dropbox. Remember, the basic regimen I discuss here is for a brand new car, owned by a person not familiat with a new car detail.

Slow speeds for spreading sealants/ wax - less thsn 3
Fast for polishing, above 3, but never above 5 Finishing polish for new cars - at speed 3 This is assuming you have a polisher that goes from 0 to 6 like my griots. |

Speed and pad type are the two ways you control what you're doing. Speed it up in your polishing more , harden the pad and you're polishing more, just the opposite on both for waxing
See the DIY videos on auto geek under their how-to section for how to get all the stuff straight in your mind. http://www.autogeek.net/detailingtips.html |

Hey Glen, couple more questions
In your first post you used Menzerna 4500 and a medium pad instead of Blackfire Total polish and White pad as stated in the docs, any particular reason why? Do you still recommend the Meguiars compound for a 2 step on an older car?

Glen, the nano sponge, do I need to get the red medium one for a 1+ year old care or will the blue fine one work?
