Are you the Mr. Otis that I was reading about in my SCCA magazine this morning? They mentioned someone might take nationals in a 2016 camaro.

Sorry, did not mean it that way. Just meant that they are fast - even though they are not common names in the solo community.

Lefty MacLeod gave me a heads up on the situation. We are friends and announce together all the time (I am Chief of Announcers for Nationals, Lefty is one of three captains that help me out).

No worries.

Yeah, he's a fast old man, here in Detroit.

SCCA put up a poll of who everyone thinks will win in the Street classes here: http://www.scca.com/articles/2001888...treet-category Incase you want to vote for Ryan or anyone else you know that is competing next weekend.

Added a photo -- the 265/35/18s lowered the car more than an inch; at this point it's scraping on driveways, speed bumps, etc. Data from last weekend show 62 mph at top of second. 255/40/17s are a bit shorter still. If I drove the car daily I'd go with 19s for sure and say to hell with the gearing change. On 275/35/19s it would be about a quarter-inch taller -- if you could get someone to mount them.

BTW agree classing looks likely to shake out the way you think it will.

Nice, running my first one tm. That's a big course. I ran my SC G8GT a few years ago and it was pretty good. I think my Camaro will outrun my times by at least a couple seconds. Great runs.

Thanks for the pic and info Des. Was thinking that 265/35-19 would be the optimal I4 setup if I one for an RS. Kinda best of all worlds.

If classing ends up the way I anticipate, then I have a hard choice. I'd lean towards a V6 1LE or regular SS.

The V6 1LE is essentially an SS (wheels, suspenaion) minus ~200lbs and minus a the HP/tq. cheaper sticker cost and maybe an easier transition for me personally.

Positive of the SS is that they are on lots, including one that is 95% of the exact car I want sitting on a lot I drive past everyday. Could literally drive straight from Nats to the dealership and come with an SS. Guess I should take the parts off the FiST first though!
