I don't know how much power or how good of a hook the rear can take before she blows on this car. But I DO know what the 4th gen's were like, and I remember that even a good hook w/ 400+ RWHP could cause an explosion.

The only option I can manage is steering wheel tightness. I guess choice of wording is bad on my part. My car is a Non 1LE Non MRC

The OP having an automatic SS with bolt ons is also likely fine with DRs at his mod level IMO. I have run in the 10s on DRs with the stock SS driveline in an auto car, and plenty of others have as well. Once in a while, someone has broken a driveshaft in an auto SS, but only a few have reported that with just bolt-on mods. With the brutal torque hit of a PD blower, breakage of the stock SS driveline would then be more likely IMO. |

To make your passes down the 1/4 mile as easy and as disaster free as possible, put a good drag radial on the car and there is absolutely no better bang for the buck. Spinning at any time can get a experienced person in trouble...beware.

i broke 2 of them, from a roll, in a near stock power level m6 car that went to the drag strip 5x? and never even had drag radials on it. before that i had an auto car that saw at least 300 passes and lord knows how many street pulls, burnouts and general shenanigans. at least 100 of those passes were 1.7 60' or quicker. that car lived on mt et street DRs. i think i recall seeing something about brandon hills car going 9s @ 130+ on the factory stock rear & axles for like 2 years before it had any issues. the op will want a decent drag radial because it will be very evident during the first night out that a 20" street tire leaves a lot to be desired on a drag strip.

My 97WS6 auto lost a rear-end with just bolt ons.
The 98Z28 in my driveway has a 12 bolt Moser. |

Update: Since Milan seems to be open July 9th Test n Tune 12pm to 6pm
I will be going there instead of US-131. Weather doesn't look to promising July 8th anyways and US-131 is 150 mile drive.

Street F1 SC3
Tires have less than 4000 miles on them. So lots of tread left. I don't do burnouts so nothing lost nothing wasted... YET lol
