Fred's Camaro build is in process.

Scope creep has already set it. I have no idea how that happened...

I did a frame off resto on a 1970 Chev 4x4. Put the cab, box, fenders etc on my car trailer and went around town getting quotes. One shop gave me a decent price and said 2 weeks it would be done.
2 weeks goes by nothing. 1 month. 6 months. Always excuses. I think it was around 8 months I went in and the parts were still piled in a corner now covered in about an inch of bondo dust. they told me it was next in line after this fender bender repair they were doing. I told them I would be in next week and if it was not getting worked on I would take it.
Stopped in about 2 weeks later. Untouched and of course they were working on another car. Went back, got my car trailer and a couple friends to help me load it. Went back to the shop and the owner actually attacked me when I tried to take my stuff. I beat about 7 shades of shit out of the guy, the employees did nothing to stop me. Not that they could have with my large friends standing there. Made him cut me a cheque, you better not drip any blood on it, for the $1000 deposit he cashed when I brought it in. And left with my stuff.
Next shop took a month to do it, great guys, great job.

pic included!

You should always ask them how long it will take BEFORE you agree to let them work on it. Make sure they know exactly when you will need the car finished.

I recently had headers installed and got a custom dyno tune. When I called and set up the service, I told them I needed it finished in one day. They made sure to schedule me on a day when they could complete the entire service. I arrived at 10am, dropped off the car, then returned at 4pm and picked it up.

That is a good shop. The bad ones will tell you anything you want to hear. Hence the OP and my experiences.

Yes, you are 100% correct. They are an extremely good shop and I feel lucky to be able to do business with them. It's good to have them locally. I'd read so many horror stories about performance shops that I was very nervous about the whole thing. Cincy Speed did a great job and got it done on time.

BTW - I did that truck build 20 years ago. Thank god we have the internet now. Do your due diligence folks and research the place before you take your baby there.

One thing lead to another.....and a week later I dropped my car off to Pete in Virginia.....drove it there from NJ. I had JPSS install a custom Comp cam, Hooker Blackheart headers and a Borla ATAK exhaust. While they were at it, I had them install new sway bars and a Hurst shifter....and of course, dyno tune the car. Got the car back.....and it's incredible. A completely different car. Words cannot even explain what a good experience I had working with Pete. He makes you feel like you're the only customer they have. Keeps you posted with every step they're doing. I couldn't ask for more. 5 star service for sure. And, the car came back to me looking like it never left my garage. Pete must have been thrilled with the way it turned out....as much as I am. They're now offering a "Jersey Pakage" with the parts that went into my build. It's that good. Here's a link to their new "Jersey" package:

As I said before, you are dealing with class there... Glad you are so happy about the car.
