This isn't just for road racing or autocross. but street use as well, because there are people that cannot handle the power of the car but they have plenty of money to buy the car. So the engineers have to design a car for the guy that gets freaked out and has to jam his brakes after being into triple digits on public streets racing another dude.
Well, yes. Some 18's do fit, but not all. Then when they do fit, you have to worry about ventilation, brakes over heat. so smaller diameter wheels will then force you to send additional air to the brakes, which then also sends rain water and road debris (not good), so that is why the larger brakes are not used on the stock 18s that come on some of our camaros. Better brake tech is out there at a price CC brakes and rotors, this will then bring in the whole argument/debate about the 5th gen Z28, and are also not a good idea for the everyday ordinary car, they need to be heated up to work the best, not a good winter car idea.... The point to it is this, compromises have to be made: Price, lifespan of parts, reliablity, warranty issues, etc When you price point a car with this much HP to a much larger market than do the higher more expensive exotic cars do, people will always piss and moan about "what should be done" instead of saying thank you and have fun with their extremely well built/engineered/performing "budget priced" super car

Easy fix guys 2019 ZL1 with the ZR1 LT5 with 755 hp and the ZL1 will out handle the 4000lb GT500 because it will be a GT350 with a supercharger. The Corvette guys won't need the LT5 because of the new mid engine vette.
Done and no GM don't contact me for a job I love the one I have

It will need a 315, 325 rear tire as well.

for all the people that forget this every year:
Ford and Dodge don't have a Halo car like Chevrolet has with the Corvette. Everything they have goes into the mustang and the geriatric challenger. |

The new GT500 will not be a one trick pony just for drag racing.

Agreed. It can't be, the competition is too high for that now. It would be an epic failure if all it could do is go straight.
The bar has been raised in this class. This class is now supercar territory from just a few years ago. Great time to be a car guy. |

No it wouldn't. They could put it at $79k and they'd fly off the shelf. I'd be in line. If this GT500 is as advertised, I'm most def going to be trading in the Zl1 in on it. But, I won't be paying $100k for one either so. I have a hook up at Ford, so I should be able to get what I want with no mark up.

Agree. It’s been testing for years (delay). It will be fast on the track...for at least one lap.

There is always a catch with Ford and dealer ADM is just one. The GT350R is great but has limited availability. The original base GT350 overheated in a parade laps but the comfort tech package couldn’t be combined with the track package coolers. The new PP2 has no coolers and comes with a limp mode warning to add your own. The 475 HP Bullitt is not available with the A10. Etc.
It’s as if Ford puts deliberate obstacles in the way of enthusiasts getting into and using their performance cars. There will be a hook with the GT500. There will be an unattainable combination for the press (and wealthy) and then a handicapped version for the masses.
