I’d say Fall would be the soonest.

My guess is that once those chips become available, GM will use them first in new production vehicles if there is still any overall constraint. I'm not holding my breath waiting for the seat chip or the rear park assist chip.

6th Gen Heat/Vent Seats
Hi All,
I'm the ecstatic owner of a '22 1SS 1LE , I took the drivers seat out and found a sticker on the bottom of the seat that stated "WITH HEAT/VENT". Knowing GM's pervasive cost cutting measures with regard to the Automatic's paddle shifters present on the manual cars and their inclusion of the Heat/Vent equipment on the 1SS models, I'm asking if it would remain consistent if GM included the wiring right from the dashboard switches (which are blank on 1SS models) to the seats for the Heat/Vent equipment located in the Recaro seats? If anyone has access to ALLDATA or similar, I think we could be on to something. It COULD be as easy as buying a 2SS model AC Control Module (GM Part# 8444150), plug n' play. If anyone has access to such wiring diagrams, I would greatly appreciate the insight if those wires are present. A direct fit plug n' play AC control module could be a big deal in the 1LE community who want those features 'turned on'. I'm willing to purchase a subscription and relay over what info I find out, just wanted to ask first. I appreciate everyone's time reading this, thanks a bunch! |

There’s a thread on this somewhere on the forums. I think somebody was able to get it working with a modified 2SS HVAC panel, but I don’t recall the details. I do remember that the BCM needs to be reprogrammed for heat to function properly, but the fans can be activated with an aftermarket control unit if all you care about is vented seats.
I do have AllData access through work, if there’s a specific pinout you want we should stick it in the appropriate thread.

mRahmani,
Honestly I wasn't able to find another thread about this topic, I'm sure it's out there. I'd love any direction you could give me, whether it'll lead me to who ever has managed to get it to work or not. I don't know the specific pinout that we should focus on, but the hvac/ac control module might be the best place to start. Even if the BCM needs a little attention for everything to work properly down the line, knowing that the dashboard-to-seat wiring is or is not present from the factory would be more than I know now. I have a lot of research to do myself, but if you or anyone else had any interest in poking around for some direction, I'd be more than happy to help however I can. |
