My baseline 1LE was 378WHP @ 1600 miles in a bay that was maybe 60-65*.

Thats 24 more HP. That's a TON of difference stock vs stock. Not convinced you're @ 402 but who cares really. What matters is the GAIN after mods on the same dyno with similar temps. :P

I think comparing your dyno vid to his shows the difference in what gear the cars are in... even with the whipple on SUKXOST... his car takes a bit longer to turn up than his.

Does having 3.91s make a difference?

I've never seen a dyno run go that quickly before on a car thats not making WAY more power than the 1LE is supposed to make. I'm guessing it was in 3rd.

But who knows...there are other factors.

Get that 1LE to the 1/4 mile track and lets see 112-113 mph.

Gears will make no change in horsepower. You will have to shift more frequently and you lose top speed with gears. And mpg could change as well.

Comes down to the same thing I have been saying since I had mine on 3 different Dyno machines. Every machine gave me different numbers 2 Mustang and 1 Dynojet. Dynojet is always higher. 10%-13% higher.. I'm sure this post will get taken down again because it seems to piss people off when I explain this....

I am not sure how a dyno adjusts for different gear ratios but gear ratios effect torque and torque is an element in the H.P. equation. Think of gearing as a torque multiplier which is why they pull harder in a lower gear.

The tech said he thought it was because of the gears. I don't understand how all this works. All I know is the cars pulls harder every day.

my 2011 Vert M6 with just a CAI and GM axle-back dyno'd at 390. I was a bit surprised, but the dyno operator from Livernois said that was right in the ballpark of all the other 'stock' LS3's they've tested, so I'd believe the OP.

Don't dynos take gear ratio into account? I'm guessing it wasn't set for that perhaps?

What ever the tale of the tape turns out to be the setup on the 1le sure is making the most of what is there.
