I like the Barton but it seemed taller that stock... decided on the MGW.

So, to get the MGW I wanted, it would've been $405 and I guess I just could pull the trigger on it.
I ended up going with Barton. Install was pretty easy with the only hard part being the centering springs. Directions only tell you to take them out but does not tell you how. No worries, I'll just check online... nothing on Camaro5, nothing on google... This is how I decided to take them out: (remember there are TWO springs, one in front and one in back...) I'm happy with the throw and the feel on the Barton. There is a lot of vibration and noise at high RPMs in first and second which I believe is due to the stick being so light compared to OEM. No issues with any gears while driving. Very happy with the look, this is how OEM should have been... I hated that factory ball... |

Does the Barton fit other aftermarket knobs? I'd want an orange resin one.

Yes... I was thinking about the MGW white with orange rally strips... but I'm happy with Barton's White shift ball...

Looks nice, I like the white ball. Maybe you can find a plate to replace the one that has the shift pattern on it. Since the shift pattern is on the ball. Just a thought.

I chose the LG motorsports short throw shifter....Mainly to save a few bucks...There is a little noise but my exhaust and music or loud occasional female in the car seems to drown it out
Oh yeah and the shifter works just fine...i kept my centering springs but man what a huge pain in the ass |

I went with the Hurst and could not be happier, It was one of the first mods I did. Install was pretty simple except for the centering springs.
