Okay then, for us A6 guys, a swap to the v6 M6 rear is in order, hopefully the driveshaft attaches the same. Then the gear game can begin!!

Wow, this is awsome news....for the M6 guys. lol

I personally don't think I'd want to go further than 3.73s...for the driveability. I'd be curious to know what the RPMs are at certain speeds. Like what kind of RPMs are you running now cruising at 70 in 6th? Would hitting 3rd gear at 65MPH still be pretty doable? (thats the "fun" gear at those speeds lol) Right now on my A6, seems like 3rd gear at 65MPH = somewhere between 4,000 and 4,500 RPM.

i am so going to get this, was there any special parts needed to get the V8 gears into the V6 rear? did everything bolt up the same? did you just buy the gears and install kit and nothing else?

Keep in mind that the Camaro's whee/tire height is almost 3" taller than a GTOs or 3rd/4th gen. So you really almost need a 4.10 to equal their 3.42/3.46 rear gears.
Perhaps GM could redo the gear ratios in the Aisin M6 and make 1st gear and 6th gear taller?

lol, i think the v6 Camaros lack torque, compared to other cars in the same league. I'd like to see how the new gears would feel, in terms of torque.

I wouldn't say the engine is lacking in torque compared to the competition, but you add in the tall wheels, and heavy weight, and yeah its a bit of a disadvantage

By upgrading the factory 3.27s to the 3.73s you will realize an equivalent torque gain of approximately 15% or 40.95 rear wheel lb.-ft. of torque. That will make for a nice ace in the hole.

Unfortunately not. Hit up your regional subforum, there should be some guys in your area who have had gears done.

are you saying no gears because you are an automatic or no you wouldn't do 3.73s if available because you have an automatic?

With this 6 speed auto, this car is crying for some 4.10s!!!
