Sitting in the lines is part of the fun.

It's not quite 400lbs. But anyway, so if you drop 400lbs off a Camaro and it makes 620rwhp and runs 11.90 @120 itll run low 10's?

Btw, I just asked him what his car weighs. He weighed it a few weekends ago, try 3900lbs with him in it AND with light weight fat and skinny drag wheels. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it! Ask padre what his car weighs with him in it.

I would say the biggest reason you don't see a lot of the big hp cars doing well at the track is

1. Driver Mod
2. Traction(can mostly be blamed on the driver)

I see it all the time at the track. I also see where people slap a supercharger on a stock car and think they are going to run 10's until they go to the track and get disappointed.

Dyno numbers mean nothing. ET and MPH tell everything.

I see guys with 600hp Camaros show up at the track with 22" wheels and Nitto Invo tires.
And then they wonder why they run slower than a bolt on Camaro.

Yeah, and then I show up and get "how fast is that thing......13's?"

So your saying I should break out my new 22" drag wheels?

Having 600rwhp doesn't mean shit to me when the damn thing runs low 12's or high 11's. If my damn car made that kind of power and ran 11.90's......I drive that pos in a ditch and walk home. Like I said before, the dyno hp bullshit doesn't mean anything, a dyno operator can skew results almost 100hp. But the timeslip is the smilemaker or heartbreaker. You don't think that some of these shops inflate their hp numbers? Wouldn't you if your customer just dropped 10 grand and it fell short of the number you promised? Flame away!
AMEN!!!!!!!!!!

I have come to the same realization with one add-on: the 5th gen is either a dyno queen or a ricer. People either burn a TON of money to hit 600+ HP so they can use 1% of that on the street (I can't even use all of the STOCK 426 horses I've got on the street) or they go ridiculously in the other direction and rice out their car.

I don't see the point in making something that makes an insane amount of horsepower and NOT take it down the drag strip. The only thing a dyno is good for is tuning. If you can't put that power to use, what is the point?

Personally, I don't plan on modding at all until I can learn to drive my car better. You can see from my time in my sig that the car is good for 13.0s or so and I'd like to hit that before I toss ANY mod on it. I also don't plan on dynoing the car until I need a tune from the mods (and feel like completely voiding my warranty )

Btw, Supercharged SS, your car is bad ass and those times are amazing

Yes I agree some has to do with the driver mod. But some of these builders are also inflating the numbers to ridiculous levels. Take 6 supercharged cars with similar mods and you get 4 within 20HP where as 2 have about 75HP to 100 more. Where the on that.

J, IDK. I never weighed it. I'm not even sure the LVD scale works! I'll try next Friday. There is a scale at the truck stop we hit but I'm to lazy to take the car off the trailer. I always go with fuel filled to the neck and now we are adding another 42 lbs. of water + whatever the cell weighs. Has to be 4k, right?
