If any stock V6 Camaro beats any 4.6 Mustang that is NOT a 96-98 GT or a convertible automatic 99-04 GT, then that is ONLY because the Mustang driver cannot drive or he wasn't racing. Regardless of how much any of you hate Mustangs, truth is truth. A V6 Camaro is no match for a 3V GT. The fact that it is a private road which means no time slips which means no proof or no way to examine what went wrong says a lot to me.

a win is a win..WTF cares reasons why. Just shows that you can lose at any time, so best to have your car in top shape(no excuses). G/J OP.

Oh I agree. I once beat a 10 sec Supra because his engine blew up. But I'm just saying, lets not delude ourselves into thinking he out-muscled the guy. He won, but he still has a slower car. Even an underdog boxer can score a lucky punch and knock out the champ.

HE said HE hurt his engine street racing earlier in the day. Which ended up not being the case, he has a cracked intake manifold.

But WE raced on a closed, private road. I had my fill of street racing in 2003 when I lined up against a Maxima with my Grand Prix and he tried to run me out of my lane into another car when he saw that he was losing. I'm just glad I had good reflexes that day and bigger, better brakes than stock installed.

THat private closed road will only be that way for a short period of time as the owner is selling to a developer and will turn that nice quiet private area into a mcmansion suburbian hell.

I won. But I also came clean with the fact that he later told me he has a hurt engine.
I have no delusions of having the quicker, faster car. It was a curiousity that presented itself with a means to satisfy. I was honestly shocked that I won.

We aren't talking the fairy 2v 4.6 from 96-98, or the slightly improved one from 99-04.

A competent driver in an 05-10 3v 4.6 should easily handle a stock v6 camaro in any configuration of the two. Obviously driver error plays a part, but from a dig it's the mustangs race to lose every time.

To say handle is a bit excessive.

V6 Camaro bone stock is not a high 13 second car. Low 14 at best. 3V GT is a mid to high 13 all day. Those are facts.

The mustang is a convertible, both being stock it is close. Drivers race, sad to say for the mighty 283 in the mustang. ( 280.7 to be exact )
