Yes because 12.6 and 12.3 in the 1/4 are exactly the same numbers. How bout that V6 level road grip? Because 0.89 and 0.97g are so close, and would be no difference on any road course. Please...

Edmunds.com isn't exactly where I'd go to get credible performance information about anything.
So C&D isn't a reliable source?

No matter which you pick, the 2015 GT is at least half a sec slower than the A8 6th gen. GM's times have been accurate if not too conservative in the past.

I only quoted one FACTual weight and that was the weight of my 2010 1SS weighed in at tech inspection at the Memphis International Raceway. In case you didn't know it, at 6.3 pounds per gallon, the weight of the on board fuel could account for the difference in your FACTs and mine. The other was right on when I said greater than 4000 for the 2SS. But you're missing my point entirely in that even 100 lbs makes a difference in elapsed times at the drag strip.

This weekend at the Holley LS Fest, there was a guy running a 2SS Camaro who said his car weighed greater than 4200 lbs. The difference in weight between his car and my 1SS could make a huge difference in ET.

So my question again is: Which car did they measure and of course the answer is, no one knows. But thanks for pointing out my gross error in facts.

Wouldn't be the 1st time, wouldn't be the last.

I did that when I bought an RX8 10 years ago.

Anyone have a clue how much weight NPP adds over standard exhaust, and how much the 8-speed auto weighs over the manual?

I would love to see the look that you get! Maybe you start with a question for the salesperson. I got my helmet, you got yours!

I'm not impressed with the horsepower increase either. it has less weight to power ratio that what I have. They went the way of Ford by adding more "bling" than performance. next thing you know they are going to tell me that it shines an "SS" on the ground when I open my doors at night like the Ford Shitstang and its stupid horse. I don't care for ambient lighting and fake exhaust tones being fed through my speakers. I want power and handling. IMO the 2016 Camaro took a step back. How about make the supercharger a standard addition to the SS models or maybe even a twin turbo option.
you're comparing GM numbers to the best magazine numbers for the 1LE. I've seen Motor Trend get a .98g with the 1LE. Some reviews even less. You're assuming that a magazine test driver won't get over the 1g mark in the 16 SS? Maybe we should also mention the vast difference between the tires used on the 1LE and the ones used on the SS.

Also, comparing power to weight ratio's between your modded 1LE and the new UNMODDED SS is a moot point.

Curb weight for 2010 1ss is 3860, curb weight for 2010 2ss is 3908. Thats 48 pounds with no other variables like gas, mods, tires etc. Which will still make a difference at the strip, but not like 100 pounds will

Wow time for more accurate scales. Not sure what you mean by fuel. Manufacturer curb weights include full tank of gas and all fluids filled.

The 3685lb 2016 SS weighed is a base manual SS with full tank and fluids.
Expect the 2ss to be 30-40 lbs more. The autos aren't much different in weight than the manuals now. But will have extra coolers. I'd expect maybe around 3750 lbs max for a 2ss auto standard options. Throw in sunroof, mrc, npp and brake upgrade you got around ~3800 lbs for heaviest 2ss curb weight full tank.

GM curb weight for 2010 1SS is 3860. I also seen 3849 back in the day in GM literature as well for the 10 1SS. The newer 5th gens are 3908 and 3935 1SS to 2ss both manual per GM.

Anyway certified truck scales had my car at 3867 bone stock 10 1SS 6 speed manual full tank.

I had it weighed after my bolt on dyno tune full tank and it was 3831. Aftermarket exhaust and wheels saved me 35 lbs. maybe a bit more I added a STB and the rear tires were 305.

Leather and a few electric motors etc add less than 50 lbs. the guy must have been sitting in the car for it to weigh 4200 lbs or the scales were jank. Or he's simply full of it.
