Interesting. Well, after the AWD v6, I thought they'd try to implement an AWD system into the Demon. 644lb-ft @ 3500rpms seems to fit if using the same motor/SC as the hellcat. And to me a 315 front drag radial tire just screams AWD, but who knows.

Like I said, just going out on a limb.

Yep those tires on the front have thrown a lot of people off. But if you think about the already compromised handling being done to the Demon, putting a wide tire on the front might be helping offset that some. Because putting skinnies like it really needs would probably make it not pass Fed safety tests.

It's not even close to that. Unless you don't count certain exotics etc. For example la Ferrari. 950 hp with electric assist. 3400 lbs. Mid 9s at ~150 mph.

I can think of several cars that can outrun even 900 hp at 4000+ lbs.

I think it's awesome but don't see how it's the fastest. Fastest most of us could ever possibly afford for sure

Fastest? Not by a long shot...sounds to me like you are getting quick and fast mixed up. But you aren't right on either account...

Regardless, I'm not impressed. Anything can be made fast in a straight line.

With the shape Chrysler is in, this is the last thing they should be wasting R&D on...maybe a replacement for the turd Dart or 200 maybe?

Like the first 4200 pound car that only comes with one seat?

644lb-ft to all 4 wheels my friends.
The car comes with skinnies (drag tires) for the front in the tool box thing. It is RWD...

What history do you follow?

It is not at all the "fastest production street legal car in history".

Fastest means top speed, not acceleration...this car will most likely top out well under 200. There are many cars that can beat that.

I know a Vette snob that insists the 315 front tires mean Demon is going to be a track car and that us "straight line" Camaro guys should stop assuming.

The wheel flares look stupid but the wide front tires at least will give it a NASCAR vibe. With skinnies, its going to look like shit.

Yea I didn't notice the crate came with skinnies till I just looked at the video again. Going to look ghetto as hell. Still think the putting the same tires on front as back to let you rotate is a stupid excuse. So there had to be a "real" reason they decided to it. If the car costs anymore than a Hellcat, then who is seriously not got the money to buy another set of tires?

To be fair on the JD powers ranking..it's not just mechanical/warranty problems. It can include difficulty running the infotainment system, HVAC, etc..

But was that the case in Ford or FCA's poor initial quality performance?

Ok lets clarify. We will eliminate the high 6-7 figure vehicles from the conversation. What we already have in the Hellcat Charger is the fastest production musclecar ever produced. With the Demon we will have the quickest muscle car ever produced. With the Viper ACR we had the best handling track oriented american production car ever produced. With the now nearly 10-yro platform in the Challenger we have nearly equal sales to the new Generation Camaro. While Chrysler may be struggling Dodge performance isn't.
