I just checked with Chevy Live Chat. My order is still 3800 (As of yesterday. Today the system has not updated as it does not update till midnight, so technically the vehicle COULD've been shipped and we wouldn't know it till tomorrow. Now the chances of that happening are very little BUT i am talking technically :P).

I think if they start to ship by the last week of October, we should all be happy with that. But I hope I'm wrong and it is sooner lol

My thoughts...
First cars did get built the week of 10/5. Internal orders, exec orders VIN #1 etc... those cars started to get delivered right away based on their importance. I think some are apart of the first wave QC hold. This week is now week #2, a lot of our cars are sitting somewhere all proven to be water tight and aligned and ready to go.... now awaiting the QC hold. Next week will be week #3. I have a sneaking feeling the QC hold can lift after week #3. Will be interesting to see how many 10/19 TPW's peeps move to 3400 this week. This is all theory and guess work, but I do hope it is close to accurate. If it hold true we will see cars the 1st and 2nd week of November hitting car dealerships.

I'm in Cleveland, Ohio.
How long would it take to ship my new Camaro?

I got mine from Lewisville, TX (even though I live in wichita, just have a lot of connections in dallas). Dealership estimates 10 business days MAX from shipping to ready for customer. He said that Chevy will ship it by train down to TX then truck to the dealerships.

This was the email I received from Chevy customer service on Wednesday.
"Congratulations on your new vehicle! The vehicle has been produced at this time. It is currently awaiting the carrier to begin the shipment process on the vehicle. For further updates, and location of your vehicle, You would need to work with the selling dealership for further information. Does this mean it's out of QC already? Anyone else getting updates from Chevy get this same email now that your car is built?

OK. Are we serious about this shipping thing or are we of a mind to make up new rules that match what we want because we do not like the old rules? Which old rules have stood the test of time. No regular production builds will ship tomorrow, next Monday or next week.
None. Not a single one. Anđ there are reasons, most of which have been posted. Valid reasons, time tested reasons. Laborsmith |
