I was very picky too. Had to be a red '12/'13, manual, moonroof, silver 5-spokes and low mileage of course. I wasn't willing to spend more than $35k

Just be patient and what you want will pop up. If everything else is right, but it has the crap black wheels, you can always swap that out.

I'm definitely in no rush. I figure the longer I wait the more $ I can save and have an even smaller payment than I'm planning on.

Haha. Have you ever driven the GS or ZL1? It would be nice to get an opinion from someone who has driven these. How do you like the 1LE?

I have driven a GS, it was a 2010 and a new 2017 Z51 Corvette right before i bought my 2018 1LE . Driving the Corvettes just lead me to believe they are not for me ,rattles and just the over all feel did nothing for me . I would take the 2010 GS over the 2017 Z51 . The only Zl1 i have driven was an auto and just wasn't into it , the Zl1 will do what ever you want it to do . I also test drove a 2015 Z28 and loved the feel and sound but the interior looked like my 2010 SS and DSSV makes it drivable at best as a weekender. My 2014 1LE set a very high standard for my next car , i set out for a Corvette and bought the 2018 1LE because it done a better job at what i expected from the Corvette then the actual Corvette did for me . I drove the 1LE right after the Z51 and from the time i first sat in the seat till i got out it was a better experence then the Corvette . I would without a doubt highly recommend the 1Le, after that i would go ZL1 .You can find a Z28 close to what a 1LE cost but the 1LE is a better all around car .I wouldn't recommend the Corvette , nice to look at and great performance but i wouldn't want to own one. Drive the 1Le last if you can .

Thanks for the input. I'll try and do that. I'm trying to wait until I can find both a good GS and ZL1 candidate for sale somewhere from Central to South FL at the same time. The 1LE I can drive at anytime I want as there is a Chevy dealer in Miami that seems to always have multiple 1LEs all listed for $36k which seems like a great deal imo.

I've thought about that but I really want a manual again.

As long as you're happy it's all good. I still spend hours just looking at my car so I know it's not time to move on yet.

I’ll go with the 5th Gen ZL1. Man, just for the hell of it, I looked at a 2018 ZL1 yesterday. When you pop the hood and see that hideous, flat paint that barely matches the car’s color, you just go, WTF? The ROUGH strut towers with the ugly caulking...sorry, got off topic there.

I really wanted to vote 2018 1LE as I sorta love buying new cars, but a couple of your points stuck out for me.

Car Meets, not a Daily Driver, did you say maybe a vert or was that someone else?

I can't imagine anything being quite as cool as the looks you'd get pulling onto the grass in a pasture at a car meet in a convertible '15 zl1... And then hammering out gears 1 - 3 on the way out to head for ice cream.
