While I agree simply resetting the battery may have cleared up issue The OP was stating the controller was at the heart of it. As stated it is a common issue with the controller.

Today my car wouldn't start.

Unplugged throttle controller

Put gas in car

Car now starts

Must be throttle controller

Heads up everyone!

My opinion is that if you are willing to throw down a few hundred for a throttle controller, a $50 OBD II code reader is a worthwhile investment! Unplugging the battery without knowing the code is sacrilege in my book.

Mine has been going strong for 9 months now on this car. No issues yet.
I've had mine on the '11 for going on a couple of years now. about a year ago I had it do this a couple of times in a months time. Firs time, I just took it out and reset the code with my reader. Second time, I just pulled over and recalibrated it, no issue since then.

If the code is P2138-Throttle position sensor 1-2 correlation then it's definitely the Vitesse. Had this happen to me. Make sure you installed it properly. If you need to reprogram it, hit buttons A and B at the same time for a few seconds and you will see a countdown. The first number that pops up will be the low voltage reading. Hit A to accept. Then depress the accelerator pedal as far as it will go. The reading you see on the controller will be the high voltage reading. Continue to hold the pedal down and press A again. You're done. You're check engine light will remain on for about 5 drive cycles and then go away. Also make sure your throttle body is clean. If you have VMAX ported throttle body and it's just a bit dirty, it doesn't like to play well with the controller. Had this happen on both my 5th and 6th gen now. I always make sure to clean my throttle body after every oil change.

This method doesn't help a person who's car has gone into limp mode. They need to disconnect the TC and the negative connection to their battery for a minute to reset the system.

Yup. You're right sledge, but I think the OP mentioned he did that already. Everything else I mentioned would be after the reset.

One reason why I don't mess with it.. don't want the hassle of the Vitesse throwing codes. For those of you that don't have probs, glad it's working out for ya.

I would like to note;

the eco setting on the controller does make this car more of a daily driver. Which honestly is the primary reason I run the controller the throttle delay we hear about is barely even recognizable as a delay.

If a code is thrown due to the Vitesse, is that something the dealer could potentially see, or is that data erased when you unhook the battery?

Has anyone noticed better fuel economy with the eco setting?

No the dealer cannot. Look up ponyscorpian's thread about this. They will think it's an issue with the accelerator relay/assembly and replace it (which wasn't necessary). Just happened to me. All I had to do was unplug it, 5 restarts, all codes go away and replug and recalibrate. It's really not that big of a problem and has only happened to me once in 6 plus months. These newer cars have so many safety mechanisms to prevent it from actually screwing something up
