My answer is that I didn't need the Camaro to begin with so I would not have purchased anything.
Eh I mean it was the purpose of the thread, but I guess some guys here couldn't see themselves in anything that had less than 8 cylinders lol.

It's all good though, I just wanna see what other opinions are.

This is what I would buy if it were a reality.
That would almost work for me too. I'm really upset they stopped making the SS so soon. Would have loved a 4 door manual with a big V8. Pretty much my ideal car in the current age of hybrids and sub 2.0L econo-boxes.

Given the parameters, I'd go with the Cadillac CTS

This Alfa Romeo right here. 510 hp tt V6. Faster than my current ride stock vs stock.
Probably add on to the garage at some point.

The title is a bit ambiguous. What did you mean? You said no V8s, then said no 5th gens, then brought up Mustangs, Challengers, and Vettes, meaning other V8s are ok?

Nothing! Really, the only reason I bought a Camaro is because I loved the way that IT looked. The front. The rear taillights. The whole package. To me, it was and is beautiful. Of course when I went to purchase one, I wanted a v8 manual. Just what I always felt a muscle car should be.

Interesting pick: Not a lot of dealer support. Expensive to fix. Alfa is notorious for quality issues. An ATS-V can be had for ~$10k less and it's performance numbers are quite similar. Per Motor Trend, the V ran : 0-60 in 4 sec. and the 1/4 in 12.3 sec.. The Alfa ran a 3.8 sec. 0-60 and an 11.9 sec. 1/4. Cool car nonetheless!

I would look into the Lexus IS F sport or the Q60. But as a toy like the camaro is I would give the RCF a shot.

Kind of a strange question to me but I was disgusted in my car search until I discovered that a Camaro was in my budget. I was going to get a Toyota pickup but the fuel mileage of a 4x4 really kind of sucks and that is where I hit the wall in my search for cars I thought were acceptable.
