Glad to hear Im not the only one... Thanks for the input everyone, and I apologize for the dual posting... (thought this one was deleted) - dont have too much faith in taking it to the dealership though...

I also don't want to take it to the dealership as my car is overseas. It took over 2 weeks to replace and paint my rear bumper. I have no idea how long it would take them to replace the whole assembly.

It is a simple fix once they have the parts

hey, ive been having this problem too after i installed my winter rims. usually occurs when i do little turns. idk if its the winter tires' rubber rubbing against the ground or its the steering wheel. but i really think its the steering wheel. anyone knows what this is or how to fix?

Other people have had this too. I have less than 1K on my warranty, I'll be bringing it in to log this issue but, as usual...it doesn't do it all the time! I am slightly worried.
Reading your description of the sound, "WEEEEeeeeeoooOOOOOoooEEEEooooooo", had me rolling with laughter but it is absolutely on point! It is kind of like the sound of two pieces of tacky leather rubbing together to me. My car just rolled to 33k miles and just started doing it also! I only hear it rolling around a parking lot at 5mph or less turning almost full lock side to side. Only issue I've had in 2 1/2 years and 33k miles. Not sure if I'm going to do anything about it yet or not.

Any new revelations on this? My 2012 SS started doing it a few months ago. Sounds like it's under the plastic at the top of the steering column.

I’m just about to hit 35k miles on my 2014. It’s got the squeaky steering wheel turning both ways now and it’s getting louder. Sounds like a squeaky wood door on an old farm house. Hoping it won’t burn a hole in my pocket 🤞

Honestly,I got under the steering column with a big towel and coated it well with WD40. Under the dash and in the engine compartment where it comes through the firewall. Seems to have helped a lot.

Be careful with this stuff as it contains a lot of solvent and will wash away any lubricate, grease or oil anywhere! Back in the day when I worked at a machine shop as a tool& die apprentice we had a large stainless steel table we used for measuring and marking. On Friday's we would clean the table, coat it with a very thin layer of light oil so it would stay clean for Monday's use when we got back. One Friday one of the guys used the WD40 instead of the oil, and when we got back on Monday the ENTIRE table was coated with a film of rust!! The WD40 solvent had taken all the oil film off the table!! It was dry!! I would suggest for the squeak use a quality silicone spray lube instead. That way it will stay there where you spray it. Works wonders on plastic, rubber AND even door locks and latches. And no smell!!
