Going back to the track in the next week or two. Ill try locking it next time and see what happens. I have a smaller pulley on the way for the ysi so hoping for 9's. Im gonna have to run the 1/8 to get the tune dialed in i got booted last time for not having a cage. So you lock it in 2nd and keep it locked during the shift? I thought that was a bad idea

Probably drop 50 lbs from skinnies and decrease rolling resistance. Any weight reduction would help your cause. You should also go quicker from the great air we have right now too.

There is a track rental at MIR (Budds Creek, MD) November 18th. You will not get kicked out. Might be worth a trip. DA will for sure be in the negatives & excellent track. |

The 4L80 needs more gear. Do the 3.73's ASAP

More gear is needed with the 4l80 your trap rpm are way low. I am running 391 with the 4L trapping in mid 6000 rpm at 135 mph.
Wheel and tires will help. But more gears will do more for you.

I ordered the 28 tires, and I'll complete the 3.73 swap as a winter project.
Regarding the 3.73 swap, if I were to purchase the complete carrier from GM, how difficult will it be to swap ZL1 carriers on the floor without the luxury of a lift? |

As PSJ said, I run those tires with a similar set up as you. 1.41 60 ft, 6.44 1/8 but I have 3.73 gears.

It's not hard, pretty basic stuff, I've done a few on jack stands. there are a few diy write ups. A small little transmission jack is nice to lower and raise into place if by yourself. A second hand a regular jack will get it done also. Check out the classified see the complete zl1 diffs going for 1200-1500ish and you can sell the one you took out for almost as much
