I don't see t top cars making a return any time soon. They will not pass new car safety standards and are not given a pass as targa tops are (considered a convertible in terms of safety testing)... maybe the 6th gen will get a targa option as well?

I seriously doubt there will be a T-top . Side impact standards and curtain airbags killed that on modern cars.

That leaves fundamentally the roof strength test to pass. T-tops are not impossible. But to simply get the structure for both roof strength as well as body stiffness for handling, you would add so much weight that you would be around 4,000 pounds again. No thanks.

This is totally unscientific... and I'm probably completely off base... but does anyone else have a vague sort of feeling that in the most recent photos, the prototypes seem a bit SMALLER?
As I said, I'm probably completely off. The body was probably locked in months (years?) ago... And it's all about photographic angles, perspective, etc... still, just a weird, vague feeling that this car looks a bit smaller than the first prototypes that turned up a couple months ago or so ago. Thoughts? |

I doubt we will see a new T-Top version, but I'd love it if they made it an option.

people, QUIT asking about T-tops already - it AIN'T gonna happen!
the vert needs to have a different company manufacturing the tops- a lot of 2012's are still having problems with the tops & GM ain't always replacing defective ones with the new design |

That car is a heavy breather. Look at all of the leaves stuck to the lower grille area.

Why is no one getting all excited about that heavily camouflaged Chevy Spark in the pictures? Hmmmmmmmmm
