Tiresize.com is a good website to use when comparing different tire sizes on wheels and it also tells how much the speedometer reading changes too!

As far as the tires - if you are looking for grip, I would get something else. I mean they aren't bad, but they do not really do much more for me than the factory Supercar F1 3s (the stock 1LE tires)
I'm running them as well, they don't hook. Maybe when it gets into the 80's and 90's consistently but it's all wheel spin otherwise.

Hey i get it. Heres something. Measure the tire bead across to the oher bead where the rim sits. Now measure the rim. If the rim is an inch smaller well, there ya go. A 30 35 series will not bulge like a 50 series just too short. I only speak from experience. You can put a 305 on a 9.5 rim and it fits fine on the front with a spacer and no poke. Hey but thats a 12.3 width tire that wont work. It will on a 9.5 because its not a 12.3 anymore.
Does it work to put a slightly wider tire on a too small rim to get better traction?
. Yes up to a point it does. Is the center going to wear out faster than the edge yes. would you get better traction if the complete tire was wearing the same yes.
Can you wish away the laws of physics lol no lol.

stock tire on 9.5 some spinning notice how it wears.
285 on stock rim more spinning notice how the center is nearly down to the wear bars and the outer is like near new lol.also their is a effect of camber being like 1.6 i think it was. got it to .7 now

Anyhow fyi

You guys are NOT about talking the 555R Drag Radial. It's not even made is a 315/35/20. Y'all are talking about the 555G2. And YES, I agree...they blow.

That wear is from over inflation. Run flats like less tire pressure similar to drag radials. The tire pressure monitor system is set too high in these cars. 555r's need to be down around 22-24psi and the run flats need to be 28-30psi. If 555r's are not hooking for you then you likely are running too much air in them or we are not talking about the same tire. 555g2 isn't remotely close to the same thing as the 555r.

Fwiw, When I was basic bolt-ons I went from consistent 4.0-4.1 0-60 with stock run flats to 3.8 with 555r's at 28-30psi. I dropped them down to 24-25psi and ran consistent 3.5 0-60 with a best of 3.4. Big difference!!

Exactly... The 555r competition drag radial is only offered in 2 20" sizes. 275/40/20 and 305/35/20.

I guess you are referenceing my pics. The first tire is the run flat 275 on the correct 9.5 rim. It has wore nice and even and alot of the time it had the 35 The second tire is not a run flat and definatialy was not over inflated. its life was spent at 24 to 28 max. I have tire gadges and my sensors are dead on so.

I haven't stated an opinion yet, just facts straight from Nitto's website. My opinion is he should buy whatever he wants.

When I went with new tires and wheels, I went with the Nitto 295 on a 10" wheel.
Yes, the 295 will fit on a stock 9.5 wheel but a 10" wheel is recommended for 295, 305, and 315. They fit with no prob.
