Brandon my GM service id is 71-1090591319 My district customer service rep Laura Will not answer her phone. I've called over 24 times today. 4 days after I dropped it off there was nothing wrong again, then i brought in the same bulletin I showed them last time and they found the problem. They want to replace torque converter again, and disassemble the trans. soooo ....Fake carfax on my first car, had to buy new car, they put a hole in it with their clear coat machine, and now it's going to get another torque converter, not to mention someone thought they saw smoke so they took apart the intake last time. Worst purchase of anything in my life. Should have just kept our civic. Oh and if you know who Laura is tell her thanks for nothing

Other GM rep has been trying to contact her for me for 45 min, he won't connect me to her supervisor. This is so aggravating, luckily the rental car I was given had a marijuana pipe in the arm rest so they upgraded me to a 2011 convertible. I swear I couldn't make this crap up if I tried.

I apologize for the inconveniences you are experiencing. I have notified your District Specialist of this information and also documented your case.

Any help and comments are welcome.

I was having he same problem with mine a few days ago. Now its not doing it. I was getting on the highway and it felt like driving over rumble stips, the sound of vibration..... here is what ive found. Thought it might be helpful.

""Just had to have my T/Q replaced in my 2012 sounded like driving over rumble strips when it did it.""

Let me know what you findout.

So my dealership called (not my district specialist ,that said the part was backordered and not available for 3 weeks) and said the car is done. I'm just assuming one "appeared" off another car(since they offered to repair a speaker that way on my first car from there). I had to call my district specialist who told me to go get the car and she was going to call me tomorrow to tell me that. The GM customer service line is worse than Dell customer service in the 90's They have no answers and absolutely don't care about their customers. They also give you no option of escalating this to someone who does. On Friday they wanted to buy me out of the car because the part wasn't available, today go pick it up it's done. Wonder if Toyota, Honda, Ford, or Mercedees customers get treated this way? Luckily I'll have more car purchases in the future that will definitely not be from General Motors or Chevrolet. Glad this was the best year Chevy ever had, If they keep this up we'll be bailing them out again.

V6 Vibrations

Hi all...new to this forum, only my second post after my introduction.

Anyway, I'm here to learn about the Camaro for a potential next car purchase. I read through the last 11 pages of this thread and wanted to add my two cents. First though, let me just say I am no expert on this subject and do not intend to come off as such.

What struck me about this post was the similarities with the car I currently own...a 2007 GMC Acadia AWD. It was the first year for the Acadia and I believe the first year/application for a 6-speed A/T transmission in GM SUVs.

The transmission is THE #1 (and only) complaint I have with the Acadia. It is definitely tuned to deliver the best MPG as possible, and by no means is it a sports car, so I get it. But it upshifts way too early in the RPM range between 1-2 and 2-3...most of the time right in the middle of a turn making it not so smooth. It also drops into 6th right around 45mph and when it does the RPMs drop to 1200 and the note of the engine it noticeably louder, and harsher. Its hard to say it has a "vibration", but I think I can relate to what all of you are stating.

This trans also had a dead spot somewhere low in the rpm range causing the car to almost feel as if it were stalling mid-turn. Quite dangerous! There was at least 1 or 2 reflashes issued to have the dead spot addressed...which it did.

It is sad to me (much like the rest of the posters) that GM has not addressed this yet. I've been looking forward to a new vehicle, but this is disappointing to hear. Strange though that my wife has a 2009 Traverse and it doesn't seem to exhibit the same behaviors. Her's is direct injected, not sure if that helps any?

Seems like they could simply program the 6th gear RPM level to hit 1400 instead and leave the rest alone. Not sure how much the actual gearing has to do with this versus software programming.

They ordered me a new one and will be fixing it as soon as the part comes in.
Toyboy - I have a 2011 SS Automatic transmission, same issue. Can you advise if this has been corrected, and what the cost was?

Thanks!

The torque converter was replaced, and that fixed the issue. It was all done under warranty, at no cost to me.

I have a 2011 LT1 RS. The car was built in June 2010. I bought it used in December 2011 with 3,675 miles on it. It now has only 5,450 miles. I have noticed a vibration similar to what is mentioned here from the first day I had it, but I also have the vibration upon startup when the vehicle is in park at idle speed (warm up idle speed). I've read of all the 2012 torque converter replacements seemingly fixing the problem, some of which seem to reappear. I've also read several posts mentioning that changing exhaust systems seemed to fix the issue. I'm no certified mechanic, but I've always thought the vibration I have felt seemed like a harmonic exhaust vibration. My daughter has a 2011 Toyota Tacoma with stock exhaust. It has no vibration. I have a 2012 Toyota Tacoma with the TRD performance exhaust. I get similar harmonic vibrations from my truck that I can feel through the steering wheel and pedals, just like my 2011 Camaro. I'm really thinking this may be related to the exhaust.

Have you taken it to the dealership for a proper diagnosis? Please let us know!
