If they only had an allocation for 02802 could they still place the order as an SS? While an LT1 requires both?

If they had an allocation for ONLY the 02824 LT1, would this be an example of a “nonsense allocation”, like the one you described previously where you had an allocation for wheels unique to 2SS only, but no 2SS allocation?

Thanks for de-mystifying all this for us!!

Is your region just Texas, or does it cover a larger area?

No. If they get an allocation for 02802 but not an allocation for 02824, then that's a wasted allocation for 02802 sent out by GM. 02802 and 02824 are both tied together so it makes no sense that GM separated those two and that they're both different totals.

It basically breaks down like this:

-LT1/1SS/2SS without Collector Edition need both 02802 and 02824
-LT1/1SS/2SS without Collector Edition, with 56Z needs 02802, 02824 and 02409
-LT1/1SS/2SS without Collector Edition, with Q7G needs 02802, 02824 and 02417
-2SS with CE only needs 02824
-1LT/2LT/LT1/1SS with CE are not orderable this week

I know it's hard to understand this stuff for folks that don't do this daily. It's hard for me sometimes and I've been doing it for over 20 years.

I honestly don't know if that number is for the South Central Region or if it's just for the Dallas/Ft. Worth Zone. GM does not tell us how big of an area that number is for. I just know that it's not the national quantity.

Im not sure if the constraints list is the same throughout all regions. If so, then it sounds like i only got one of the two necessary. He thinks it would only be good for a collectors edition LT1. That would be quite annoying as that would add 20% to the cost, while adding nothing that I want.

If its only good for 2SS CE, then thats going to be a no-go.

Question
The constraints image says for production 10/23 to 10/29. Elsewhere someone says only one more allocation drop. If Camaro production is slated to go to early January, will the final allocation drop include all Camaros built through December? Or will there be allocation drops through November if allocations are about one month before production?

It's possible your dealer is one that get the CAMALL allocation group. This basically groups both coupe and convertible into one allocation group instead of splitting it up like mine does. The numbers for CAMALL would be 02826 for LT1 V8 Engine and 02804 for 1LZ/1SS/2SS trims.

This is what your dealer would see if they didn't have both of those allocations, with the same numbers as my screen or the ones from above with the CAMALL allocation group. If the numbers in the constraints column are red, it means that they didn't have an allocation for them. If the numbers were black, it would mean that they have an allocation for those constraints.

The dates on the image are just an estimate and not set in stone.

Production is now set to end on 12/7/2023.

Basically, you have until 10/19 to get an allocation for a 2024 Camaro coupe or 10/5 for a Convertible. If you don't have an allocation for your order by then, then your order will not be accepted.

Your original analysis was correct. Dealer called today saying the allocation was only good for a 2ss ce. What a bizarre choice by gm.

Getting worse folks....now 6 speed manual trans is limited availability. I can not stress this enough.....

DO NOT RELY ON A PRELIMINARY ORDER IN THE HOPES THAT IT WILL GET PICKED UP!!!

Anyone seriously wanting a 2024 needs to hit the chevy.com locator daily and try to find a car that will work. These are only going to get harder and harder to get and you better get one while you can. If you're sitting at 1100 status thinking your order will get picked up.....you're gonna miss out!

That's crazy.1LE is wide open, but 1SS and 2SS are super limited. LOL. And you could get held up depending on what wheels you order too. And definitely don't order LPO (dealer installed) fuel door!
