Oh heck yes. Roto-fab seems to have high hopes for this product and I am looking forward to seeing it under my hood. Just need to be able to buy it

No breaks, we are eager for the only good intake to possibly come to our 6th gens!

Too eager. I hate waiting enough to abandon my 6/8 built 2017 because it took too long to get to me. CAI is looking like my only option right now.

We made it back on the dyno with our latest version. This configuration yielded solid gains across the RPM range. Peak gains were 12 HP and 13 ft/lb tq over stock. The big difference here is gains carried from start to finish. Our previous version showed great top end gains but we weren’t satisfied with low and mid-range performance. On the dyno, AFR readings were about .3 rich as compared to most of our data logs, so we are confident the gains stated above are on the conservative side.

It’s important to note that we tested this intake after 500+ miles of driving under various load conditions. As discussed earlier in this thread, these cars are slow to adapt to changes in the MAF configuration. We have tested a competitor’s intake which experiences this exact issue. To date, there is definitely a general lack of independent testing results with the 2016 Camaro CAI systems. Realizing we don’t fall in the “independent testing” category, we will wait and see what others post…it will come out! In the meantime, we may post some comparisons against the competition which can be easily verified or disputed by others...IATs, filter size, etc.

Dyno numbers provide useful information when forming an opinion on a CAI system. However, they only tell part of the story. A CAI should provide IATs (air intake temperatures) as close to ambient as possible. To achieve this, the intake MUST prevent radiator and engine bay heat from entering the filter. Our system does this. If you or one of your friends have a system currently on the market, we strongly encourage you to remove the lid and see for yourself how effectively they have sealed out hot radiator and engine bay air. This is a huge factor if you are staging at the drag strip or simply sitting at a traffic light beside a Dodge Challenger! With an inadequate air box design, intake temps absolutely skyrocket when not moving. The IAT’s will come down during higher speeds, but not quick enough. You will already be much of the way through that ¼ mile or looking at the tail lights of that Challenger. Maybe not the latter, but this is a very important aspect of an air intake system since much of your performance driving may directly follow an idle period. We will be posting a detailed comparison of this with the Roto-fab CAI and a couple of our competitor’s systems. It’s a real eye opener! We will wait a couple weeks to post this pending some changes to our air box design. The changes don’t affect the sealing of our air box; however, we wouldn’t consider it as credible to post such a comparison using a pre-production air box. This takes us to the next topic….

We have decided to increase the air box size which not only increases air box volume, but allows us to use a filter which is 2” longer than the one we tested with. It was a very tough decision to re-tool a product which is complete and performing well, but we feel it’s best for the long term. We may gain a little more on stock cars, but certainly will increase performance tremendously on modified cars. As many of you know, a large portion of our business comes from tuners and speed shops who do their own testing and aren’t caught up in marketing hype. We’ve already received feedback on the currently available 2016 CAI systems from multiple tuners and we think this change will separate us from them by even more.

We already have over 7 months of R&D invested in this project. Therefore, we’ve decided a couple more weeks added to our target release date to make this change is time well spent. We don’t normally like to post target release dates, but our goal is to have this wrapped up and in production this month. The production version will be the system with the configuration as tested above along with the air box and filter size increases.

Thank you Jordan and the team at JDP Motorsports for your time and efforts!

Roto-Fab CAI for 2016 Camaro SS Sneak Peak!

Standing in line and waiting. I know here amongst the Indy NEXGEN Camaro Club members it was split between Roto-Fab and CAI with Fifth Gens and I had the latter.
I'm really wanting to go Roto this time around with this SixGen and anticipate it will be well worth the wait.
