I'm really digging this car. It's actually exciting. It still has the ugly Toyota spoiler - I'm very surprised they didn't put a different spoiler on the thing - but that's a very easy, cheap fix. I'm not 100% sold on the wheels, but I'll reserve judgment until I see it in person. They look like a nightmare to clean. They can't be monoblock forged can they? I imagine they're rotary.

The most important question to me is....was it built to take a beating like the outgoing zl1...the outgoing zl1 was put through 300 back to back clutch dumping launches to ensure durability.....no one wants the bean counters stepping in and making it faster but weaker.
Can anyone answer this? Last edited by Sgtrod; 03-28-2016 at 10:14 AM. |

And I think that clutch-dump number was more like 600, but I'm unsure. Quote:
Don't forget it's also coming with PTM and a custom "launch control". The last ZL1 was designed, and programmed for launches on prepped tracks for drag racing. I imagine this one will live up to that precedent. |

Talk about torture test...this makes the outgoing zl1 seem like a safe investment for track junkies...cant wait to see if they do this to the new zl1.... Cause we can all agree that the c7 z06 has had its shortcomings for dependability in this arena. |

To the OP,
What was the ambient temperature when they were giving rides around the track? |

I didn't check the weather (should have), but it felt to be about 70 to me.

That car is a stunner!
If I get a nice chunk of change, I wouldn't mind one of those. Thank you for posting this!

The reason I ask is it can get very hot in Pahrump. If it was driving a speed over the Spring Mountain track during a hot day that would be very impressive, and relieve the concerns of the LT4 overheating in the ZL1.

We'll see how the cars do over the summer with media drives (hopefully). But I have faith! |

Is there any way to find out which auto show they'll have the zl1 at next? I really want to see this car in person. The weekend on 04/07, you have Birmingham, Austin, and Edmonton. Anyone know if they'll have a zl1 at each, at one, or at none?
