A little more information would be helpful. Was the ambient temperature the same during all the runs? Was the car allowed to cool to the same temp as the stock pulls? I'd love to see the data logging if your could get that. Decent gains either way but it's weird that we saw more torque than hp and you saw the opposite. Thanks for posting this up!

All the best,

Temps were in the 60's and the car was allowed to fully cool down between stock and TB added runs. 3 runs each all in 4th gear, the 2nd run seems to always yield the highest results.

Not sure what info they will give me but I will ask.

Much appreciated! IATs specifically would be great...

Ive seen a couple not gain anything. I didnt do the testing on them so I dont know the ins and outs of those in question. Then Ive seen some gain close to 10 that I didnt test. This is from various ported TBs across the board. Most buy ported TBs for throttle response anyway.

You know as well as anyone that the conditions need to be exact to get good data. If you do pulls with a cool car, swap the throttle body in 10 minutes and dyno again you're going to have heat soak.

When we test we log EVERYTHING including IAT, timing/knock, AFR, Ambient temp and so on. We also complete the testing on the same day without removing the car from the dyno. We confirm that the conditions were identical before we release results.

The throttle response is substantially better and the car feels noticeably better from 2K to 6K. This is a great mod for the money and the quality is 2nd to none.

Kind regards,

Jordan Priestley

No doubt. Thats why I mentioned that I didnt do the testing on those few. Especially when your dealing with such a small percentage gain you have to be dead on on your process. I make atleast 2 pulls after temps are right to see consistency in power. Once thats established testing can begin.

Not trying to discredit your results, but the dyno runs I did were on the same dyno, same day, and 3 hours apart to allow the car to cool. Overall the increase wasn't the same you saw. I am starting to think more and more the Auto gearing is what is holding the results back here as I know your test was on a manual.

I am heading back to the Dyno once my car returns as I have a few more parts to test. But I will run the base line with the TB installed first to compare results from the last time we ran. While overall the day, temps etc. will obviously not be the same, it should be semi okay indicator of how it performs.

Would love to see what other A8 guys and gals are seeing.

L99 people love ported TBs more than LS3 people. Wonder if the gen6 cars will react the same?
