11 second SS prediction
That's right, you heard it here first, I predict the new SS will run an 11.99 bone stock, in the hands of a capable driver, in negative da with the 8 speed auto. I predict we'll see times of 12
3 - 12.4 from the magazines. I'll go ahead and drop the mike here.

no le hace.... Always a faster gun in town. For me, Just enjoy the push into the seat back and some V-8 music. But you are right, low 12s or high 11s should be there. Right along with the stang.

The only stock stang running low 12s will be the GT350.

I don't think a 12.0 or 11.99 is crazy. Better suspension more hp and less weight. Heck some 5th gens have gone mid 12's compared to the mag times being around 13's. ( stock )

He estimated 12.3-12.4 as being more typical for the 6th gen.

I think a hero run on a prepped track makes that possible but not typical. I think
it's going to be on the order of 1/10 second faster than the ATS-V, so 12.2 typical for an auto, 12.5 typical for a manual. It's going to be a compelling package. Probably closer to the 350R than the GT PP on the track too. |

But if you follow the C7 forums, you'll see those cars have dipped WELL into the 11s bone stock. I would not be shocked at all to see a 6th gen Camaro SS auto get into the very high 11s stock.

so 11.00 is a guess with a hero run and not on paper? bone stock just on a prepped track?
we still don't even really know if it's going to have launch control... from an idle launch I would predict 12.3... with launch control maybe .1/.2 less... I still find it hard to think that it'll break into the 11's bone stock... |

Sorry Dave but many of us said high 11s months ago, so we didn't hear it here first.
A 15 GT running 12.4 will be as common as a 6th gen Camaro SS running 11.8-11.9. Few and far between. I see a lot of 12.1-12.2 times for a good run on a 8 speed SS |
