Sorry I know this is a de-rail, but I don't get the complaint.

On my car, the metallic paint makes these angles stand out, and makes the design readily apparent. If I wanted a car with boring flat sides I wouldn't have bought the Camaro. I mean, just look at my signature shot below. You can make out every crease, every hard angle on the car due to the different shades of blue...and I friggin love it.

Since you don't know what a 1/4 panel is, there's no hope. I quit.

I know what a quarter panel is...good lord man thanks for basically calling me ignorant when I'm trying to understand exactly what your gripe is...At least I'm trying to see your point. But your comment is just confusing to me and as you can see above, another member agreed with me, so apparently I'm not the only one.

If you are talking just strictly the 1/4 panel area, then I have to disagree. The 5th gen has no exterior "design flaws". Its meant to look how it does. Its meant to show off the lines. If you don't like that particular part of the design...that's your opinion (and that's fine!) but its not a "flaw".

Thanks for not even trying. I expected more from you. I think we can just agree to disagree.

Frankly if the 6th gen doesn't have lines that reflect its bold shape in the sun I'll be pretty disappointed.

Flatten out the ends of those headlamps to about 50 - 60% of that, and I say you've got a winner.

Ok, since you want to make this personal I'll tune in again. Gang up on me all you want but apparently GM didn't take the this as a joke when the 5th gen came out. Many complaints came into GM so document/bulletins #2346049 and 09-08-51-004 were released on 9/10/09 re: PERCEIVED PAINT MISMATCH. Tran tuned into camaro5 on 9/17/09 in which 115 post followed. Do a search @ 1/4 panel paint match. Like I said days ago, I hope GM has corrected this problem on the 6th gen..

Who the hell are you and where did I say your name? Oh, that's right, I didnt. So, get your thong out of a knot.

Its not a GM problem that people are too stupid to understand that a paint with pear, etc in it looks different at different angles. There is nothing to correct.

You are right...GM didn't take it as a joke...but they should have. From the post you referenced http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42941

Addressing Customer Concerns

Use the following photographs and descriptions to demonstrate to the vehicle owner that what they are seeing on their vehicle is not a color mis-match, but an intended design feature.
OK...so back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Looks like it has a lower profile and the rear seems to be shorter more C7 Vette like.

Just that the slight lines of the actual grill you can pick up under the mesh don't show a grill anything close to this.

Not saying it looks bad just that the few shots that show just a hint of the real opening aren't in line with this.

I understand what you are saying. The way the quarter panel meets the back edge of the door is very angular. I expect an overall smoother shape with the C6.

Fuel Filler Location...

Not sure if anyone has already discussed this but I think that we can resolve which side of the car that GM will put the fuel filler on and not be fooled by the obvious attempt to confuse us in these spy photos.

The spy photo's so far place a cover on both side of the car but the right side would seem to be the obvious location unless they change it just for the Camaro which would seem to be an unnecessary cost. But the fuel door is placed forward of the rear wheel arch if you go by the cladding patch as compared to the actual location on the other alpha chassis mates, the CTS and ATS pictured below. The bigger patch after the supposed fuel door disguise may be the true fuel door which is further away from the passenger compartment.

The CTS and also ATS fuel door is on the right side as is most of the recent GM cars but not to include body on frame trucks and suv's.

Putting the fuel door on the passenger side makes no sense.

Thanks. With all the complaints I'm hoping GM has addressed the issue.

Supposedly at the January 15 Detroit Auto Show, but that may still be speculation.
