the wind will make the cover move and dirt will get under it then grind into your paint. Do you have car storage places up there. In western NY you can store a car for all winter $150. $85mo heated. The guy I took it to stores a car for $150 for 1 full year.

I can't comment on snow/cold weather protection, because in Texas our concerns are more based on protecting from the beating sun... But whatever you choose to do, make sure you invest in a GOOD cover. Covercraft's have always served me well and I've had classic and antique cars for over 30 years now. A good Covercraft cover will run you around $400 and some change. Check their applications, they have a variety to pick from depending upon what you are trying to protect from. Get a FITTED cover as it will be more snug to your vehicle and reduce the amount of movement from wind.

As said above, the wind will lift the cover some allowing dirt and grit to get under the cover. The cover will move and shift some and when you combine this with the dirt, it will act like sandpaper. Remember snow and ice melting on the car will not harm the car as long as you let it do so naturally and not try to wipe it off. |
