6th gen power plant thoughts.
Has anyone heard rumors on what motor will be in the 6th gen SS? If not is it possible to see the LS7 become the power plant. Or a new LT motor? Very curious can't wait for the official word.

LS7 will die with the Z/28. If anything, a detuned LT1 will be in the 6th gen.

Most likely a turbo 4, some version of the V6, detuned LT1, detuned LT4 eventually.
I wish GM would bring back the 5.7 liter. |

LS7? Really? An engine like that is too exp to put in production cars like an SS. LT-1 is SS motors.

Its going to be the LT1, same hp/tune as the Vette. If its advertised with less hp, its just marketing for Vette buyers. I dont see why they would do that, cause first LS3 had same hp rating in both Vettes and Camaros, and then why develop an inferior engine that will cost money when the new Mustang will have around 445hp stock.
The only possible inferior engine choice will be the twin turbo V6. Then maybe the turbo 4 to replace the base V6 to have better MPG ratings.

Ya, its ridiculous how attached people are to stock numbers. I could care less about an actual number. If the Gen6 comes out at 300hp, but is 1000lbs lighter, that would walk most cars out there. But no one is impressed saying, 300hp.

Lt1 will be on camaro '15 no matter if gen5 or gen6. The lt1 will have less HP than the camaro. Then couple of years they will all be the same.

Your statement doesn't make sense. If you're saying that we will see the LT1 in the Camaro for the 2015 model year you heard wrong or are just making stuff up. All accepted logic points to more of the same for 2015 with a few minor changes. Maybe a couple new colors or appearance packages. GM already said during the release for the Z/28 that there would be no new models until the next generation.
