When I lost a key on my 2011 SS I went into the dealer, gave them my VIN, and 30 minutes later walked out with a new fully programmed key and fob. It cost about $60 for the whole process and they had blank keys in the back. I was surprised at how easy and cheap it was.

Of course a few weeks after I did that I found the lost keys in my toolbox, so when I traded in the car they got 3 sets of keys.

Another option is to buy just the key blade and have the dealer cut it to match your key. I think it cost me around $25 for the blade and key cut. Then I used epoxy to attach a couple of washers for a handle and I have a spare door key that I keep tucked in my wallet for just such an emergency. It is less bulky than trying to keep a spare fob around. You can always use the rear seat pass-through to access the trunk if the keys are there.

Squillo, not to jack my own thread here, but I just moved back to the mainland from Oahu. I definitely miss the island sometimes, I like the open road and the speed limits out here much better though. Damn HPD always cramping my style there haha

I was at a car wash cleaning the door panels and accidentally locked the doors with the key in the ignition and radio on. I used the phone at the office of the car wash and called OnStar and they unlocked the door. After that i now have the app on my phone and i can lock/unlock my car by my phone.

I'm a contractor-Network Engineer.

Work and pay was much better out here. I lived in Mililani for quite some time.

Let me get this right he "lost" your keys and drove you to your house (now he knows where u live). This doesn't concern you at all? Hope he is honest.

I always have to argue with the Camaro to lock the doors with a key in the ignition. Lock button won't do it, pushing down the door button will immediately pop back up, second FOB won't do it.
I think you have to set the function on the radio for that feature. I probably didn't and still haven't.
