Whatever GM is doing now, is better than what they did in 2016. I changed the fluid twice before 7500 miles and the rear end would still moan when cold (on the 2016). The 2022’s fluid hasn’t been changed yet… she’s nice and quiet at 9800 miles. I’ll be changing it at 10K, just because it’s good practice.

For the price and ease, it should basically be every few years after the first two dump and fills, why should the rear end be treated like the red headed step child? I Liken it to doing wrist curls with a 50 pound weight, lubrication is important. But hell I’m just a dumb welder that has to prove all the engineers wrong when they tell me it’s possible on paper.

The OP question is whether to change the hydraulic fluid in the electronically actuated limited slip mechanism as well as the gear oil, after break in. The answer is: no, just change the gear oil.

Changed it at 1500 miles and it was dirty, but not terrible.
Changed it again yesterday at 8000 miles and it looked like new oil. Wont be touching it again until 45k miles.

The scary thing about modern cars is that many cars today have sealed transmissions which are “technically” impossible to ever change the fluid.

When you as how long the factory fluid is good for, the mfg tells you “the life of the transmission”

Well how long is that?

“Till it breaks”
