Maggie coolant flush
So its been about 5 years now since my maggie install. Have a total if about 8500 miles on the car 7K on the supercharger. How is one aupposed to do a coolant exchange/ flush? No drain plug and pipes are not the easiest to get too. Thoughts?

Congrats on the longevity of your ride and Maggie. How does the coolant look at this point in the reservoir? I'd pull the lower hose going to the front heat exchanger in front of the radiator. Should be two hoses there, now what I always did for the reservoir is to use a turkey baster and suck the coolant out of the reservoir. Do that first and then you won't have that drain down and out the hose you pull off the heat exchanger. Once you get everything drained use a different color coolant so if you ever have a leak you'll know if its the Maggie or the coolant from your GM system. You won't be able to get all the coolant out of the Magnuson system as there will still be some in the heat exchanger and the blower bricks inside the 2300.

Honestly unless you have a leak or something gets into the system you really don't need to change it. Just like the oil in the blower its just fine for well over 100,000 miles unless you damage the blower no maintenance is required. I had a guy accidently pour synthetic oil in his reservoir, he have been drunk to do that buy it cost him a good days work taking everything apart since it got into the intercooler bricks. What a dumb ass, I heard every imaginable story you can think of for what people do, like torquing the manifold bolts to 108 ft lbs instead of 108 inch lbs. He couldn't figure out why he broke all the bolts. Blamed Magnuson for selling a blower with fractured stainless bolts. He did admit his mistake and was pretty embarrassed and cost him a bunch of work plus I had to send out a new set of blower manifold bolts. Shit happens.

Sometimes DIY is just fine. Checking everything twice or reading instructions correctly will generally save your ass a lot of headaches or money. If you don't feel confident in modding have someone else do it.

If it looks fine run it. The changing coolant every 5 years or whatever is just a marketing strategy to make easy money. Todays coolant will go a very long time...often the life of the vehicle.

These systems just never really get dirty either.

it really only has 8500 miles so technically speaking mileage I don't need to replace it, but am only going off the GM preferred "every 5 years" of coolant replacement. I can probably get by another year, but always like to keep up on my maintenances. especially when its all modified like this is.
