2010 5th Gen to 2021 6th Gen

Well I was going to sell my 5th Gen, then I decided to gift it to my son for his college graduation. The 5th Gen started life as a 2010 SS, and then transitioned into what you see.

So I decided to buy myself a little retirement gift after gifting the 5th Gen. I’ll I can say is the technology has come a long way. My 5th Gen feels like a muscle car, the new ZL1 1LE feels like a refined race car. I’ve enjoyed the 5th Gen after almost 8 years of ownership, but this new Camaro is just insane.

The new ride is a great retirement gift but what you gifted your son was nothing short of a great street car. You did a lot of nice work on your 5th gen.

I’m sure you’ll thoroughly enjoy the 6th gen a lot!

You won’t regret getting the 6gen! I know I didn’t regret getting a 2016 2SS and trading in my modded 2010 2SS LS3. I kept the 2016 for 3 years until I found a slightly used 2017 ZL1 in 2019 and the rest is history. Sometimes I do miss the old 2010 though with that LS3 but when I drive the ZL1 I forget about it quickly. Enjoy that ZLE and you made the right decision.

Well I got to keep it in the family. The new Maro is so much better all around, but that 2010 was also special in a different way. Looking forward to a few years with the 6.

Congrats! I did something similar. Traded a 2012 SS setup for autocross for a 2021 SS 1LE. And I agree, the tech and new chassis is much better and fun!

Congratulations on retirement ! The ZL1 is the perfect gift, I purchased mine about a year before I retired, this is my 1st sportscar, I ride serious hp motorcycles, like 200 hp or more, so the ZL1 is not a problem to handle, if I could buy only one sportscar in my life time this is it, I remember looking at a brand new C6 ZR1 2009 and thinking I will never be able to afford that 638 hp beast unless it's used and on its last leg. Boom 8 years later the Z06 motor is put in the ZL1, 650 hp for half price and probably better handling, I'm in ! It needs port injectors, but, I'm good without it !

Yes it was a C4, loved that car and hated the Optispark on it. Was broadsided by a non licensed visitor from another country and totaled. Good observation though.
