I'm interested by is concept. Let's logic thru it.
What controls are in place if you were to simply mash the gas in neutral ? A rev limiter. I don't know how the system on the ZL1 worked, but I would think that it relies heavily on the rev limiter. Let me see if I can find a video that shows how the car handles a no lift shift situation. Okay, so I found a few videos and it seems the intent was to keep the supercharger in a max boost condition. I would think that it wouldn't be beneficial enough in an N/A application. http://youtu.be/Iyqek0PGXXw The second video doesn't discuss anything about why, but more the how. The 2016 has launch control, so it makes me wonder if it has the same no lift capability. I'll see if I can find out who the ECM engineer is and ask. If the corvette has it, they would have had to actively remove it from the 16 camaro, as the capabilities are very similar. http://youtu.be/kr_1nOPrpgQ Last edited by The Idiocracy; 02-07-2016 at 05:54 AM. |
