Ive read an article from I believe* Road and Track that said that the ZL1 was still a better track car. And it this Shelby is going for straightline speed, why can the outgoing 6Gen Camaro SS match the 1/4 time.

Not much work for me to see

Not really. 12.3 in the 1/4 isn't that quick anymore and .98 on the skid pad is nothing to brag about. The car actually got panned in the one review I read about it. Remember, this is a $96,000 car. At that price point, just about all of it's competition kills it. It's actually a shame that they stuck Shelby's name on it. Hope you were kidding...

Is that a record for the worlds slowest 850 HP car?

Slower 0-150mph than an ATS-V...that can't be right.

The article in Road and track states this is not a finished car and needs a lot of tweaking, but with that said what a start. The one thing, I really think this shows the 2017 Z/28's price range. $86,000 to $95,000.

Tweaking? How much more can they "tweak" it? They already spent over $50k tweaking it. Remember, they started with a stock, $40k Mustang. This isn't a special model. It's a Mustang that was sent to Shelby to be modified. I could take a stock 5th Gen SS Camaro, spend $20k, do all the work in my own garage and get better results than they did.... and I am just a shade tree mechanic. That car sucks for $96k and they should be ashamed of their results. Actually, they never should have allowed it to be tested. They're whoring out the Shelby name.

On second thought, I've spent about $3k modifying my 2014 SS, and I'm only .4 seconds away from them. With a better driver and DA, my car is probably equal. That's sad.

Chevy has no work to do on this one....

They could take the decade off if this was the competition.

Road and Track absolutely panned it. Probably the most daming article I had read all year until of course I read the Best Drivers Car article referring to the new Z06s inability to compete. Now that was embarrassing.

The Shelby is a tuner car. Similar to Callaway, Hennessey or SLP modding a Camaro. It's an aftermarket company. Shelby buys cars from Ford and modifies them. This has nothing to do with OEM cars.
