Reasons for using the remote start.........
.........OK, I'm evil. I know it and I admit it. I don't know exactly when it happened, but it was around the time I took delivery of my car. Got the car on a Monday and had to go back to the dealer on Friday to get the stripes put on. I stopped by on Thurs evening just to touch base and make sure everything was a go for Friday. As I was talking to the Sales Manager, a car pulls up behind my Camaro and stops. I figure someone wants to take a look at it. Well, the car door opens and this 8-9 year old kid jumps out and runs over to my car and plasters himself against the passenger window so he can look inside my car. Now, I really didn't mind him looking at the car, but being up against it was a little more than I was ready for. So I hit the remote start. The kid must have thought the car was going to transform, it is a Rally Yellow btw, and he jumped in the air and ran back to his Mom and Dad's car. The Sales Manager, another salesman and I were all laughing. Then I felt kinda bad because that kid probably will have a Camaro phobia now. But I just couldn't help it. Then last week I was at our company park for a project close down celebration. My car drew the attention of the maintenance guys who all took turns coming over and walking around the car checking it out. I was kind of nervous about that because I was about 100 yards from the car and wasn't comfortable with people being right next to it while I was that far away. But I tried to be a good sport and wave and smile at them to let them know that I was keeping an eye on them. But one guy crossed the line. At least to me. He walked around the car and then when he got to the back bumper, he got on the ground and slid under the car. That was it, I didn't know if the remote would work from about 100 yards, but I gave it a shot. It works. The guy shot out from under the car yelling, "Don't back up!!! Don't back up!!!!". We all were laughing at that one. I did go over and open the car up so he could get a good look inside and under the hood. I felt he earned that much.

I like messing with people in parking lots. they will be crusing up and down looking for the good spot and I hit the start and they stop and wait and wait and wait then I'll just turn it off with the remote and they still sit there til they get bored and drive on....

My truck has had one for 12 years, the glamour has worn away.
Now I just hit the panic button because my Camaro is a 6 speed. |

When he saw us laughing, he started saying that he knew it was remote start. But when I got over there, he admitted that he thought someone was in the car and he just didn't see them.

I was coming out of Home Depot last month and low and behold a kid and his mom taking pictures. Well then the mom point to him and the car and the kid probably 12-13 walks over and leans on the left hip. Had to do it. That kid got off the car faster than anything I have seen. When I get there the mom says "Is that your car"? I said yep and then she just said we were just taking some pictures hope you don't mind.
I just wanted to read her the riot act but I played nicely. Kid didn't get back to touching the car though.
