VIN Question

My daughter recently purchased a new 2013 2LT vert and the last 6 of the VIN are 200049. The date on the door jamb is 1/2013. Does this VIN number indicate it was the 49th one built in year 2013?

No. The 2013's are non-sequential.

So you are saying the sequence number is random instead of consecutive as they are made. That would be hard to believe.

For us it's the last 6 digits. They started the line at 100001.
