Looking for 2LT Convertible (V6) Mods
I've got a 2011 Convertible 2LT RS (V6), and I'm looking to start adding some mods. I have vague list of what I'd like:
• Drop springs (preferably 1.2") • Air Intake • Possibly lighting I'd just like to add as much horsepower as I can, preferably for under $1,000 for now. If you can post any links to any mods you know of, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! |

My personal recommendations: 1) oil catch can (to protect that engine), 2) CAI inc. intake with scoop & waterbottle relocation kit, 3) Black Iceolator, 4) Ported throttlebody. Then when funds allow get yourself an aftermarket exhaust. As for suspension, more noticable would be bushings & sway bars. Those first mods listed will really enhance that permagrin! Good luck!

RubyCamaro, what's a black Iceolator? What's it do?

It goes between the manifold & engine. It insulates & keeps the engine heat from transferring to the manifold so the air coming into hte engine is cooler & it makes your car gooooooooooooooooo! It adds a little HP & a lot of fun. Talk to ApexChase!

With a 2012 a black Iceolator can't be done on that engine :( Not yet anyways.

if you install the isolator be careful when you torque on the manifold, you could strip the aluminum. with the iceolator you can keep the OEM manifold bolting,

CAI intake and MRTv2 axleback exhaust has made me very happy, all for around $900 from Apex.
I haven't officially dyno'd it, but my butt dyno tells me it's a great improvement in HP and overall sound.

The first thing I suggest doing would be an Elite Engineering catch can to keep all the crud and oil build up from gumming up your intake track and valves. For springs, Hotchkis Pfadt and BMR are all great choices. As for the Intake system, many here prefer the Cold air inductions intake system, but Roto-Fab and Airaid are also good. I suggest going with whatever one you think looks the best. For lighting, Oracle/AAC makes some good stuff. They have color matched side markers, Halo's and plenty more to choose from. Also if you have an RS package, check out our JDP color changing halo kit! We offer just about everything you could want for your Camaro and can set you up with a package deal well below your budget. Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions or pricing.Have a great day and I hope to talk to you soon! Best regards, Tyler 888-308-6007 |
