My dealer dropped the ball!

Hey guys, I was all ready to put in my order for a 1LE when i found out about the 2014 unveiling at the end of March... At first, I said screw it... I'm still going to order the 1LE but the more I thought about it the more I figured, I should wait a few weeks just to make sure whatever little "upgrades" they made are things that I don't care about and I'll order the 1LE then OR the 2014 is a must have, so I'll order it when they take orders.

Problem is, they just told me that the cutoff to make a factory order for a 1LE is March 21st! So if I wait to see the 2014 and would still rather a 1LE, I'm shit outta luck! WTF!

Really? I'm going to spend 50k on a car and you can't even allow me to see the next version of it... Talk about forcing my back against the wall.

Unreal... No idea what to do here.

So your indecisiveness on what you want to buy is your dealers fault??? If you are ready to buy now then just do it and enjoy it. If not wait it out, see what the 2014's have to offer and go from there. Simple as that! Dont keep waiting for the next big thing, its an endless cycle.

Not exactly indecisiveness... Indecisiveness is knowing what the 2014 will offer and still not being able to make the call...

I'm curious what it will offer so I'd like to wait and see and make an informed decision. Those are very different things.

Exactly... And if I love it, I just made an order for a 2013 a week prior... Seems pretty shitty. That's all I'm saying...

Can't you just cancel the order? I believe people have done that before?

That's life in the marketing strategy game... Don't blame the dealer as this is something decided much higher in GM and its all about getting commitments and motivating buying decisions from buyers. There will always be something better around the corner, so just decide and jump in with both feet...

nothing shitty about the situation at all. you waited till the end of a model year to make a decision. your dealer has nothing to do with factory cut off dates. as i said you have to make a decision whether to order a 2013 now or wait for the 2014. if you decide to wait for the 2014 and do not like it for some reason, then you could always pick up a 2013 on a lot somewhere.

Cheaper too! As for deciding, order both

Don't know about your dealer , but the one i ordered from never cashed the check i left for deposit when i ordered my 2013. When car came in , they returned it to me when i gave down payment. I say order the 1LE , when it comes in decide if you want it. You may get some arguement but i am sure it can be worked out if you order a 2014.

order the 2013 on the 21st. wait six days see the 2014. if ya like it cancel the order. it takes awhile for the order to move up in status to 3400 (built). it wont matter to the dealer if you cancel for new model year cuz they are still selling car. and they may even keep the order just to get one on the lot. if they give you any shit about it walk out. problem solved
