Vibrations?

Just got a 2016 2ss convertible with 7,000 miles on it. LOVE THE CAR!! My only issue is there seems to be a weird vibration that mainly happens around 40-50 miles per hour and when the car is going uphill. Anyone else notice anything like that in theirs?

If it is auto, look into the transmission shudder thread.

Do we get free loaner cars with chevy?

Mine was not AFM, it was the transmission. Dealer did a full flush, filter replacement and replaced the fluid with a new fluid recommended by GM. Took all day but it fixed it. There is a tremendous amount of discussion on this found in the "problems" section of this forum.

I had a buddy that had a auto C7 that had this issue. He said it got worse and worse, he took it to the dealer and had several Corvette specialist look at it and tell him noting was wrong its a vette deal with it. He couldn't stand it any more so he traded it in for a civic lol.

look up a8 transmission shudder. Mine got it around 10,500 miles. I took it in for the triple flush, that worked for about 2k miles. It came back worse than ever, and is now at the dealer for a new torque converter.

AFM is a different animal than what these guys are talking about. AFM is Active Fuel Management and there are two parts to this that most of us care about. The drone mentioned may be due to faulty AFM exhaust system valves or just due to the obstructive nature of them:

1. The AFM in the ECU. When cruising along or driving slowly AFM will deactivate 4 cylinders so your car runs in only V4 mode for supposed fuel savings.

2. The AFM valves in the exhaust system. When V4 mode is active, these valves will close in the exhaust for more back pressure (I think??). Most of us care about this as even if the AFM is disabled the valves (even when open) cause some exhaust obstruction. When replacing the exhaust with an after market one, the ones with added AFM valves are much more expensive. Simply disconnecting them will throw CEL codes.
