Modify Recaro seats for track harness
The Recaro seats in the new 1LE are great. I want to install a cage and harness, and would prefer to keep the stock seats. Seems like it would be possible to cut the slots for the shoulder belts and the crotch (5 point or 6 point) if done by an auto seat repair shop. Possibly even install bezels around the openings from a Recaro that has the slots, or some other seat.
Anyone attempted similar before? |

If you’re only cutting upholstery, you could be OK. But if you have to cut any of the metal structure of the seat, you could seriously compromise its integity and its ability to protect you in the event of an “Oh, sh!t.” Ask the race shop what they think.
