On-Star Red Lightl

Twice I had started up the car and the on star light was red instead of green. I pressed the blue button and both times on star said it was a car problem. They also could still send me directions to the nav system. Both times, after parking the car and restarting it later the light would be back to green.

The first time the dealer tightened up the ****pit cable connection. The second time they replaced a cable in the passenger footwell.

Yesterday it did again, red light upon starting (first drive in about 3 weeks) and I pressed the blue button. On star again said it was a car problem. Again they could send me directions to a restaurant I was going to. After lunch I started the car and the light was green again.

So it appears to me in these cases the red light is something similar to a check engine light, i.e., it is telling me something is wrong but the system is still usable.

Anyone have such intermittent problems?

Never had that issue but if you still have full service its probably with the car. I would go to a chevy dealer and get it checked out.

I had it with mine and the dealer had to replace the mirror. That took care of it.

Have them check the on star system's "back up" battery. My camaro had that same problem when I had it and that solved it for me.
