Camaro did a Slow crank, Serv. Stabilitrak, RPM gauge failing and now no power

Started it up and experienced the long crank on hot start but was took way longer and the Service Stabilitrak message showed up as well as the traction symbol lit up. I also noticed car was louder and vibrating like crazy and RPM gauge wasn't moving. I shutoff and cranked it back up and it was okay but this time it seems like it's a struggling to give it power after 40MPH. Anyone else ever experienced this?

Did a google search and found someone with a similar issue as me but this was a while ago

I do have issues with the A8 shudder and the previous owner had the toque converter changed in 2018 and I got the new fluid in back in 2020

Bad starter. The long crank sent it into limp mode.

Check out my link on this. Adding a engine to body ground cable took care of my problems of slow cranking (plus the weird electrical stuff like a dead tach and the stabilitrak light I got after one particular slow crank and near failure to start incident).

Many others besides me have added the cable. I have yet to see one person report back that it did not help.

I know this is an old post but I am that person. A around strap did nothing for me. But that whole write-up you did in the 500 some odd post is a great reference. Thank you for that.

I felt like the start when cold was considered acceptable but still not confidence inspiring. However when warm it's just very slow to turn over. I don't think I'm at the point of being left stranded but everyone who hears it says that's not right.

41,000 miles on a battery that's one year old and my car is always plugged into the battery tender.

I'm sorry to read you are still plagued with this. FWIW - the ground cable success seems to be the best with 2016 and some 2017 models. I see you have a 2018. You have used my bag of tricks for this - add a ground cable, have a newer battery and keep it on a tender. The only other thing I can suggest is that the starter windings may be damaged from excessive heat that comes with slow cranking. I hear it's a pain to change but a new starter may be in order. Good luck - this is a frustrating issue!
